  1. I am 29, I had by-pass about a year ago and have since gotten married, and started college again. I also have two daughters, 6 and 8, and work a full time job as a nurse's assistant. Since the holidays my alcohol consumption has increased dramatically and I am worried that I am becoming an alcoholic. I do not want to fail at this weight loss and I have too much going for me to ruin it with an alcohol addiction. Please I need some reassurance and encouragement to get through this difficult time. Thanks!

    Post Op March 2014

Hello all. I had my surgery March 11th. I have been back to work for a week and things are going good pain wise. I do however have a lot of issues with getting my protein daily. Anything like chicken, eggs, beef, turkey......any meat or beans I just can't keep down. Any suggestions?
  3. Hi Leesa. I hope you are starting to figure out your issues. I am having similar problems. I have a very hard time keeping my protein down. The only thing I can eat are puddings, shakes, yogurt and rice cakes. I can't keep any meat, beans or fish down. I feel like I throw up at least once a day and question my decision to have the surgery. I have many coworkers and friends who have had the surgery and it helps talking to them. I am 7 weeks out and very frustrated and depressed. The only thing that helps is talking with other people who have had the surgery. I feel like I haven't even lost that much. Its 25lbs but I know that I don't get my reccomended protein a day and it seems like rice cakes and shakes are my only go to foods. Its very frustrating but hopefully it gets better with time. I hope you feel better soon. Thanks for sharing.
