Mine was Sept 10! Im home and feeling great. Walk walk walk then walk some more! Very little nausea. Tough getting fluids in but every day I get more. First follow up with surgeon today. I peeked at scales once at home and I know I have all my IV fluid weight off but not sure how much more. So happy to be on this side!

Tomorrow for me too! And I hafta be there 5:30 as well. Scared but excited and ready to be done

Me too! That's EXACTLY how I feel winning_by_losing. I plan on talking to my surgeon about it at my appt. I'm not concerned at all since I'm confident in my choice.

Congratulations on your hard work and success! Agree completely! After my divorce is when I began gaining weight. I believe (haha with the help of my therapist!) that I felt invisible and tried to make myself invisible. I hid behind my weight when I was faced with the challenge of having to date after all those years. Ugh all anybody was interested in was how I looked. I wanted to scream "don't you see anything else?!" Easier to sit home with ice cream! However, wanting to be invisible has taken it's toll on me. I look back on pictures of past five years and it looks like I never even participated in school events or vacations. My daughters started putting lock codes on their phones so I can't go in and delete pics of myself. My health has been worse in past year than my entire life combined. I have strong kind and loving husband, children and friends that make me feel good about myself. I am ready to start participating in life! I will always be uncomfortable with compliments, but I know the pleasure it gives me to compliment others so I will just learn to smile and say Thank You!

I meet with my surgeon next week YEA!! I feel like those brides that send out "save the date" cards! I chose my hospital/surgeon due to proximity to my home and the fact that 4 close friends highly recommended them. Did nursing clinicals there. Have friends that work there. Met the bariatric staff, LOVED them! I feel that my care leading up to surgery has been excellent. Expect aftercare to be just as good. I will be having lap RNY. Now...I have a jealous co-worker who constantly makes snarky comments about my choice in hospital. Jealous she just started with company and must wait 2 years to get surgery. I did a full year of research prior to making a choice so her "know it all" attitude grates on me! So other day she started in on me that her ONE friend told her that patients with my surgeon lose slower. She said my surgeon is more conservative with his pouch size. Honestly? I really wouldn't care since losing is losing. I have 90# to lose vs her 200+# so I'm sure we look at it differently. I just cannot imagine a SIGNIFICANT (they can't be exactly the same) amount of difference among surgeons, but I do believe MY surgeon will tailor MY surgery to fit my needs. They can only go so small on your pouch! I told her that no matter what the surgeon does, ultimately the weight loss results will be up to me. Opinions?

I have UHC with a custom wls plan. 35 bmi with 2 co-morbidities or 40 bin. Must have policy 2 yrs before wls covered. I have NUT training with UHC which takes about 2-4months, but my surgeon requires a little more so all in all process MAY take up to 6 months. I did not have to provide 5yrs of records or anything like that. I have an amazing case manager I work with that answers and helps me with all my crazy questions. All you can do is call. Like so many have said there are many different UHC plans

I'm from Boonville. Process just started. Hoping for surgery early summer. I'm Will be at St Mary's Evansville
