  2. Had surgery Mar 26/14... enjoyed my entire support and stay at the Marriot in Tiajuana. Was wondering if there are others out there who used R4aChange and Dr.Garcia Gorvea....terrific doctor! Terrific staff! I am from Update: 12 weeks out 53lbs down...still struggling with water intake and foods...but still trial and error stage right? Hope to hear from you
  3. Hi! I went to Tiajuana Mx too...my rny surgery March 26/14 ...12 weeks out...53 lbs down...feeling good...how about you? Any problems? Would love to stay in touch if you would like...
  4. You are experiencing the gas they fill your abd cavity with for the operation..itll last 3??weeks? Walking helps...i was more energetic in the first few weeks than i am now at 12 weeks..being in Mexico helped! Location and weather makes a big difference....but walking really helps!! Dont worry about the drain...lol..Nooo it dosnt hurt. As for diarrhea I never experienced that at all...so wondering if its something in your shakes? Dont worry getting the protein and Water in is pretty much impossible...but do your best! Watch for dehydration signs...dry skin...to headaches....As for eating normal...lol...remember this is a change in lifestyle...i had rny too..and im glad i will never ...hopefully..to be able to eat like I did pre surgery...so far down 53 lbs...its a struggle to get 65g protein in or 64 oz of water..im sure if i could get all that water in id have lost more...lol.... but slow is good! Congrats on your surgery...get up and walk and do what you can for eating and drinking...remember diarrhea causes dehydration so need to drink more...if you r experiencing alot disvuss with doctor...im sure more of us got constipated lol bc lack of Fiber and nutrients the first few weeks..so diarrhea may be better? Loltrying to be optimistic...and yes your body may switch to constipation soon...so important to monitor your bowel movements
  5. Hello! Im doing ok...i need to find a GP....may have to go to Edmonton to do that...its frustrating! Still eating cottage cheese...its a staple...lol...eggs too. Am 2 months out now...down 42 lbs......hard to believe!! Its slowing down..but then im very inactive...and not working so it kinda sucks...i know i shoukd be mire active...the weather has been crapoy to say the least!!
  6. I always felt safe...even walking up to the mall by myself... i didnt have a job to return to...i also stayed in San Diego for 2 more days bf travelling home..it was difficult...so im glad i did stay...i should have stayed a min of one more day..but 2 or 3 would have been nicer... you could go back to work pretty much immediately....that is after 1 week..depends on what you do..but you may want to take 2 weeks off...
  7. I too went through Ready4achange..with Dr.Garcia Gorvea... He was marvelous...I went alone from Canada.... my thought was i would only lose time and travel money if i didnt feel comfortable...of course i stayed! You meet other people while you are there...so dont worry about that... rooms are clean..snd safe...i have had no problems with my RNY surgery...7 weeks out and doing ok...wish i had more support around here...northern ALberta Canada...so yes i travelled a long ways! My name is Yvette Desmarais if u wish to FB add me...
  8. I misss chicken wings!! I cant wait to try these!
  9. Is there a reason that you dont want to do gastric bypass?? Did you do a lot of research on the sleeve?? Sometimes..a few yrs later.. people come back to get the bypass...im just looking at how much you want to lose ... you r diabetic as well...do you have GERD? OHHH i hope i didnt sound too negative and nor meant to confuse you...there r alot of people getting the sleeve..but from my research not enough long term studies of it and as i stated seems that many come back to get bypass.. i went straight to bypass...am almost y weeks out....no complications... im Canadian and think Mexicos hospital and staff provide wayyy better service and hospitality than what we get here. Good luck!!
  10. Hi!! I went down to tiajuana by myself...im from Northern AB Canada... I had Dr. Fernando Garcia Govea and had a great experience with the staff and hospitality bw the hospital and hotel. You will meet other patients pre surgery...or post... its very exciting...best of luck!!

  19. Hmmm.im curious why potassium and Prilosec..or is that an ant-acid? Yes seems there are differences in nutrition..as ive been watching the boards and previously done my homework...lol...im not sure why people..doctors.. would want to push their..or pts.. bodies..but i guess to each their own Still better to err on side of caution..i think..
  20. You must be so excited..the time is slmost here!! Best wishes on a successful surgery and quick healing. 22. Check previous post.. i also forgot i bought 2 greek yogurts one flavored one non..then i take 2 tbsp of each and mix as to not get the high sugar etc content.... danon has some greek yogurt as well that is in small portions and is low fat low sug..low sodium.... in fridgerated part of store is jello pudding low fat low sugar....honestly not sure when i can incorporate fruits?? Is watermelon ok to eat now?..maybe ill buy and blend it up in vitamixer...lol..yes i love this machine...
  23. Going on day 11 post op...ugh...thank god for my vitamix from Costco...today i made my own soup in it...butternut squash (cooked) ...white..red onions(handful)..orange pepper...35 baby carrots...butter lettuce...and few others along with sage and crushed red pepper ..oops a tad too much..but not really...my body handled it great...i premade more soups bf i left... ok for groceries..eating chocolate pudding low fat low sugar portioned into small bowls (1/2 cp)for the week....broths..today tried subways chivken noodle soup broth did not seem salty at all...just had a few sips ..have to check website...jellos im sick of aspertame...ugh....isoflex protein drinks...but they coagulate when you put leftover in fridge so will have to share with spouse..lol...i bought fresh broccoli and cheese soup from sobeys and vitamixed it as broccoli pieces evident...lots of crushed ice (ty fridge!!)..tried cream of wheat and milk but that didnt settle well...although spouse mistakenly bought 1%instead of our reg skim...but think ill wait another week to retry the cream of wheat.
  24. Omg..thats horrific...where did you have your surgery done...sorry i dont recall if you said when?
