1. Hey - forgot to post!

Bea thank you for doing this - this was my first and your you last challenge. All the best and I'm sure you will do great :-)

Final weigh in - CW 330 - didn't reach goal but I'm proud to have released the 15 pounds I did, nonetheless.

Fourth weigh in - CW 332 - feeling good! Can I make 326 tho? I'll have fun trying :-)

Third weigh in CW 338 - picking up the pace, not sure if it will be enough to get to goal - but I'm going for broke anyways :-)

Second weigh in CW 342 - slow pace on the down - I am the tortoise :-)

First weigh in CW 345 -,- a bit slow but a loss nonetheless! (SW 348 - GW 4th of July 326)

  4.
I've been struggling a bit in that I've reached that point where the sleeve has really done it's part and now it's time for me to need to WORK for the losses. I've been a whole month with no appreciable changes, just fluctuations of 3 lbs up and down the scale. Then I pulled out two photos taken a year apart and realize that I've come a long way already. I have nothing to be discouraged about and realize that this last 25 lbs. is just going to take some patience, planning, and persistence.

Here's the photos:

Well done you really look healthy, happy and less than half your starting weight! Thanks for all the encouragement and motivation you give to us all :-)

  5. Well what a night!!! I ended up at the ER at the Mater. After 3 days of major pain when and after I eat the pain was too much. Well I'm now at Sunnybank waiting to get my gallbladder out! Just thought I'd let u all know. Welcome to all the new people. It's great to see more people joining the group. All the best with ur ops Cheers Bec

Wishing you well for surgery - and heal quickly

  6. Aghhh! Stupid stalls! I'm stuck again only an extra 0.5kg lost :( Frustrating. Trying not to revert back to bad habits.

Hey there Kaz, I was actually thinking bout you today and wondering how you were doing. Ahhh mazing by the way!- .5 is still .5 take that and add it to the rest it will all add up in due course.

I've learnt early on to remember not every time i overate or ate wrong foods did I see immediate weight gain but sometimes I did and sometimes it came on slowly but eventually it did of course - therefore on the flip side, I expect I should see some immediate losses, some slow ones and some stalls.... Just coming out of a stall and slow loss these last three weeks.

Keep going strong - and remember all the good advice and support you give to everyone else :-)

  7. I get it. When I sit at work to eat lunch from my little condiment bowl with my quarter cup meal - I feel like some eyes are saying 'yeah, like that's all you'll eat for lunch!' In saying that though, for every pair of eyes that give me that vibe - I have three sets pushing me on and even offering to share plates when I have to lunch out. So it's not all bad. Maybe it's just my inner voice being mirrored because I have never eaten so dainty before in my life LOL - I feel like a princess now ha ha

  8. I'm new to this but going to join in!

I'm only 5 and a bit weeks out and in a stall, so looking forward to short term goal setting instead just looking at the end goal which seems like it will take forever!

I'm in Oz so I think I'll post my CW and GW my time so I don't forget if that's ok :-)

Feeling like this is just what I need :-) Thank you

  9. Thanks folks. I wouldn't go against my doc's guidelines, which are no drinking 30 minutes before and ONE hour after! Aurgh! So hard to get all the stuff in I need to and keep track of what is left and when to do what. I finished 1 1/2 ounces of salmon an hour ago, and just tried some much needed Water since I'm behind for the day -- still too full to drink it. And I still have more food I'm supposed to eat tonight to hit my Protein goals.

Lol - your statement is my agony at the moment! Not enough hours to stop start and get protein and liquid in..... However - we will conquer :-). Just soon I hope

  10. Thanks GG! How are you doing with it all?

    Hey there Kazzygal!

I'm doing great guns - like you food doesn't seem to be an issue and I keep everything down and only needed one lesson not to eat to fast when I progressed to soft foods last week. I forgot I used to inhale food and not chew chew chew lol. Water is my biggest challenge. I used to drink 2 - 3 litres a day and loved the stuff. But post surgery I don't enjoy it or care for it, even though I know it's value and importance. I'm barely getting 600-750ml a day.

Just keep trying to get it down with a little lemon juice or have hot tea or hot lemon juice and Water. Seems I tolerate it hot or really cold. Just the wrong time of the year for really cold water.

I've lost 12kg post op (14 April) and a total of 27kg since 10 March! So I'm a very happy girl. In a stall this week but I'm not concerned as I'm sticking to healthy food. It's probably lack of water.

Glad to see your update! Congratulations on your progress - off to have a hot lemon drink ;-)

  11. I am 8 weeks and have a foul taste in my mouth when I am hungry havent eaten. Does anyone else get this. When I eat I can only eat about four table spoons and that is it. My weight loss is slow possibly due to not enough food but I cant possible eat more than I am. Any advice would be great. I barely eat as much as I would have for breakfast in a whole day. And breakfast was my smallest meal.

Sounds like what you are describing is the effects of ketosis occurring in your body. It's when your body is burning fat at very high rate and using that fat fuel for energy. I made the same query today at my monthly check up - told to drink as much Water as I can manage - not sure if it's what you mean you are experiencing though.

Google ketosis breath and see if that's what you mean.

    Good luck.

  12. Hi there - just thought I'd check in since it's 14 May already! Hard to believe one month has passed :-)
