  1. Hi - just getting things ready at home for my return from hospital. I have read about people using ice cubes and water early on and just wondered if anyone used hydrolyte pops - they sound like they could be useful for the first couple of days... But there might be a reason we can't use them. I will ask Dr too - but just putting it out there for now.

    Surgery april 8...excited!

Hey there Kaz, I was actually thinking bout you today and wondering how you were doing. Ahhh mazing by the way!- .5 is still .5 take that and add it to the rest it will all add up in due course. I've learnt early on to remember not every time i overate or ate wrong foods did I see immediate weight gain but sometimes I did and sometimes it came on slowly but eventually it did of course - therefore on the flip side, I expect I should see some immediate losses, some slow ones and some stalls.... Just coming out of a stall and slow loss these last three weeks. Keep going strong - and remember all the good advice and support you give to everyone else :-)

Day 2 pre op. I am the biggest b***h alive?

Right up front - I'm not a Dr! I found it strange that you has excruciating back after you lost weight. Mine felt better - could it be kidney pain? Have you been drinking enough water? Kidney pain made me angry at the world....... Just thoughts I'm sharing :-) good luck.

Do you ever feel like a fraud?

I get it. When I sit at work to eat lunch from my little condiment bowl with my quarter cup meal - I feel like some eyes are saying 'yeah, like that's all you'll eat for lunch!' In saying that though, for every pair of eyes that give me that vibe - I have three sets pushing me on and even offering to share plates when I have to lunch out. So it's not all bad. Maybe it's just my inner voice being mirrored because I have never eaten so dainty before in my life LOL - I feel like a princess now ha ha

    7 month Vsg Before/After pic

You are looking great :-) Thanks so much - needed this today! We have similar HW so it's a good idea what I could possibly achieve in 7 months. I'm going to participate in the 4th of July challenge as a first goal. Keep up the great work doll!

    4th of July Challenge

I'm new to this but going to join in! I'm only 5 and a bit weeks out and in a stall, so looking forward to short term goal setting instead just looking at the end goal which seems like it will take forever! I'm in Oz so I think I'll post my CW and GW my time so I don't forget if that's ok :-) Feeling like this is just what I need :-) Thank you

    Any April Sleevers?

Lol - your statement is my agony at the moment! Not enough hours to stop start and get protein and liquid in..... However - we will conquer :-). Just soon I hope
  18. All losses are good losses fellow sleevers. I'm in a stall and embrace the fact that it shall pass - as long as there are no big increases we are winners and on the way to healthier lives. We will conquer, stay positive :-)

    Surgery april 8...excited!

Hey there Kazzygal! I'm doing great guns - like you food doesn't seem to be an issue and I keep everything down and only needed one lesson not to eat to fast when I progressed to soft foods last week. I forgot I used to inhale food and not chew chew chew lol. Water is my biggest challenge. I used to drink 2 - 3 litres a day and loved the stuff. But post surgery I don't enjoy it or care for it, even though I know it's value and importance. I'm barely getting 600-750ml a day. Just keep trying to get it down with a little lemon juice or have hot tea or hot lemon juice and water. Seems I tolerate it hot or really cold. Just the wrong time of the year for really cold water. I've lost 12kg post op (14 April) and a total of 27kg since 10 March! So I'm a very happy girl. In a stall this week but I'm not concerned as I'm sticking to healthy food. It's probably lack of water. Glad to see your update! Congratulations on your progress - off to have a hot lemon drink

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Sounds like what you are describing is the effects of ketosis occurring in your body. It's when your body is burning fat at very high rate and using that fat fuel for energy. I made the same query today at my monthly check up - told to drink as much Water as I can manage - not sure if it's what you mean you are experiencing though. Google ketosis breath and see if that's what you mean. Good luck.

    Tools of the trade: Gadgets/Journals

Hey love the ideas here. I stumbled across some apps that help you time / chew while you have your meal. Has anyone tried these either free or buy now versions. I'd be keen to know if any are useful. I find I easily fall into 'shovel' mode - forgetting to put down my spoon and wait :-p

    Where's the April sleevers....

Hi there - just thought I'd check in since it's 14 May already! Hard to believe one month has passed :-) Yes I've had some downer days but grateful I've had mostly up days! My incision that was infected is now healing properly! Yay! Off to see surgeon and nutritionist today for my monthly check in and the anticipation of being able to move onto soft foods is exciting me just a tad :-) How have the rest of you been going?
