Band to Bypass discussion
So glad I read this thread because I have been experiencing the same thing since my band to gastric bypass. I was reading other threads and feeling down because they were losing so fast. Now I don't feel bad with the 1 to 2 pound loss a week. Thanks for sharing!

Post Op March 2014
Went for my 2 wk post op and was told I could start introducing soft foods. I could try fish as long as I could break with a fork, chicken, tuna, could have fruit as long as it is cut toddler size n veggies as long as it was soft. Also remember to chew n chew. I am learning when I am full, keeping a log, making sure to get my protein in but the water is the hardest. I am averaging a 1-2 lb weight loss a week.

African American RNY Sisters
Yes, I am feeling better. Due to my diabetes it was suffering with neuropathy really bad. My friend gave me something to help and I feel so much better. Going to call my doctor tomorrow to talk to her about it. When did any of u start going to the gym to walk? I am trying to get in fluids I feel like I am not getting enough. Any suggestions?

Just wish I could make a decision!
I would go with what ur Doc suggested. I had a band for almost 7 years and didn't lose the weight I needed and was still on diabetes meds. Also my band slipped so I had it removed to gastric. I am a diabetic with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I researched both the sleeve and gastric and talked about it with my doc and asked her if she were in my shoes which would she do. She stated gastric due to lower risk than the sleeve, would come off my diabetes meds, and would lose more weight. I am glad I made the right decision for me and I should have done it right the first time instead of worrying about the time off. I have taken off so much time from illness associated with my weight. So this time off will help me when I heal not to be taken off for weight related issue. Good luck with ur decision!!

Hello Lorraine, the nutritionist supplied us with a liver shrink diet to follow which consist of a Protein shake or protein bar for breakfast, mid morning snack of fruit and add a 4 oz yogurt if ur diabetic, lunch protein shake or protein bar, mid after snack of fruit and add 4 oz yogurt if ur diabetic, dinner your choice of chicken, fish, or turkey 3 oz, steamed veggies or salad with fat free dressing (2 tbsp), 6 unsalted crackers or 2 slices low cal bread or 1 small baked potato, 1/2 c fruit or 1 small fruit, evening snack 1/2 c fruit or 1 small fruit. U can snack on unlimited veggies that are non starchy like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, green beans, asparagus, spinach, greens, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, cabbage, radishes, onions, eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, and peppers. Drink plenty of fluids cal free, like crystal light, sugar free kool aid, water, decaf tea and powerade zero. I am required to do this for two weeks and all liquid before my surgery. Shakes or protein bars have to be under 220 calories and 10grams or less fat per serving. I hope this helps u. U can also purchase protein powder which can contain no more than 40 grams of protein. Hopes this helps u! Good luck!

did anyone have a food funeral?
I did but didn't go overboard because that would only add on more weight for me to lose before my surgery on the 26th. I started my liver shrink diet on the 12th and this is day three. I am down four pounds already.
