  1. Hi guys, (This post isn't meant to be pretty so don't say I didn't warn you) I'm now a week and a half post op, and I've only passed one solid stool, and the rest has been very watery diarrhea. I use to stay away from lactose based milks because of tummy upsets, but now I'm super sensitive to anything with lactose in it like up& go's (Australian Breakfast drink that comes in those juice boxes), yoghurts and even ICE CREAM Has this happened to anyone else? I thought I was going to have an issue with being constipated due to lack of fibre, not this horrible constant issue. thanks,
  2. Hey guys, I'm a postgrad med student from Australia (week and a half post op). From the research that I've looked at, and chatted to a few doctors about; it's all to do with your liver. Obese individuals have a condition which is called 'fatty liver' and involves fat accumulating around the liver which causes it to often cause sclerosis and a lot of scar tissue forming. This is because of our high fat & sedentary lifestyles, and it can cause the liver to become very brittle and 'break' or 'fall apart' easily if moved. During surgery, surgeons have to move the liver the get to the stomach, and the problem they had in the past was there was a high amount of liver damage from the surgery. Tons of research and experiments has been done where two weeks of a no/low fat & carb diet actually reduces the fat around the liver drastically. To sum it all up; Two week preop diet = reduced 'fatty liver' = much lower risk of complications during surgery = Sucky and difficult but definitely important and worth sticking with it

  5. Hey guys, I was sleeved on the 7th of April, and I'm at home now and the pain is subsiding with each passing day. I'm a little worried though... I'm still on fluids for another week but at the moment whenever I drink something, even the smallest sip, I feel it get stuck in my tummy and it feels really uncomfortable; it passes after a few seconds when my stomach kind of... Groans (actual groaning sound) and the liquid passes through. Anyone else have this problem? (I've noticed if I take a large gulp of Water I get the same feeling, but even the smallest sip will trigger it), will it pass ? Thanks,
  6. Hey my Aussie sleevers! I have a question that you guys might be able to help me out with; I'm 6th day post op now and whenever I drink liquids inc Water i get this feeling... I'm also on my 6th day post op; but I'm still unable to get a whole glass of anything down.... I kinda get this feeling of it getting caught around my tummy region and feel discomfort for a few seconds before my tummy (actually) groans and it passes. Anyone else know what's up with this?
  9. Yeah but I get this even if I drink the smallest amounts.... Weird right?

  11. Hey guys, I've just been discharged from hospital yesterday after having the surgery on Tuesday morning. I've woken up this morning being really dizzy, back aching with slight headache and my whole abdomen is so tender and sore... Is this normal? (It being this sore still since Tuesday) How long should I expect before the pain subsides? Thanks, Aaron
  12. Everything went well, I'm just a little sore as you can imagine, but surprisingly not as sore as I expected. Thanks for keeping me in your prayers guys
  13. So I'm lying in the hospital bed waiting for the surgery room to be prepped... I'm nervous as hell!
  14. Totally understand, I'm the same these days! Love my games. I guess how I see it, is that the sleeve essentially restricts how much you can eat, even if you don't 'stick to a diet plan and work hard'. If you don't, you feel physically sick ( from what I've been told) so I guess that's more motivation than anything t
