I am in the prossess of buying health insurance . I am self employed and want to know if anyone knows what health insurance I can get that will cover gastric sleave surgery can anyone help with some info please Thanks

I am 1 week and 5 days post op and I spent the first 3 days so depressed and crying that I started thinking that I was going to regret my decision. Be patient...read the posts on this site. It will help and you will find that you are never alone and there is always someone that has had a similar situation. Good luck!!

I'm on day 3 and I agree, no more broth! Baby food peaches we yummy today though, never thought I'd say that, LOL! Glad to know I'm not alone in the struggle. Still hungry and a little blue...

Thanks 1Day, I may have been looking through rose-colored glasses pre - op but it would have been nice to see more of us give descriptions of what the early days and weeks were like. Seems like many folks struggled but I didn't see many posts about it. It's like the new mom who forgets about the labor pains while falling in love with her baby. Stories about the early struggles surely would have helped me prepare for this life change. And I've talked to at least 4 vsgers at length and looked at tons of boards. Not one told me that it would be as bad as is been, but maybe I'm on the bad end of the spectrum. I appreciate your candor. I know it will get better, it has to because this is the pits.

I had a lot of pain for a week then it gradually subsided. Hang in there, it will get better. I am about 10 months out now and have occassional twinges in my ribs but it's not bad and i wouldn't go back if i could.

No you aren't. I'm 4 days out from gastric bypass and just miserable. Nauseated, dizzy, pain. Not to mention gas times a million and bloated. Having trouble drinking, haven't even tried to eat yet...
I read on one of my packets that sometimes the patient get a little emotional or depressed after surgery, but it passed.. I sure hope so cause I'm feeling rough. Also found out I can't tolerate dairy... The hard way. So now my shakes with soy milk. Yum..
