  1. I appreciate the positive threads but my journey thus far has been pretty bad. I'm 3 days post-opp and trying to hold on to the belief that I won't regret this down the road but today has been hard. I can't relate to those that say they had little pain and didn't feel hungry. I'm hungry, chicken broth makes me gag and so do the protein shakes. Am I alone?
  2. I have United Healthcare and process was really pretty simple. But every company has several different policies. You have to check the policy you are buying to see if bariatric surgery is covered.
  3. Thanks 1Day, I may have been looking through rose-colored glasses pre - op but it would have been nice to see more of us give descriptions of what the early days and weeks were like. Seems like many folks struggled but I didn't see many posts about it. It's like the new mom who forgets about the labor pains while falling in love with her baby. Stories about the early struggles surely would have helped me prepare for this life change. And I've talked to at least 4 vsgers at length and looked at tons of boards. Not one told me that it would be as bad as is been, but maybe I'm on the bad end of the spectrum. I appreciate your candor. I know it will get better, it has to because this is the pits.
  4. I was sleeved on Tuesday, March 4th, 7:30 am. I stayed 2 days and glad I did. I had terrible had pains day after surgery when they took the pain pump away. I walked a lot but the pain was bad. I couldn't get down 100 ml of water per hour and I was afraid I'd get dehydrated without the IV so I decided to stay 1 extra night. Glad I did because I ran a fever on night 2 and felt awful! Trust your judgment, staying an extra night won't hurt. I'm so glad I did.
  5. I'm on day 3 and I agree, no more broth! Baby food peaches we yummy today though, never thought I'd say that, LOL! Glad to know I'm not alone in the struggle. Still hungry and a little blue...
