  1. Fill #6 7/10/08

Well I went to Boston today for a fill appointment. Imagine my surprise when they weighed me in at 247.5lbs. I am down 111 lbs since November 6th. I was so excited. I did not see Dr. Lautz today but his PA and she was great. I liked her alot. She told me that she felt that I did not need to get a fill at this point because I had lost 16lbs in the last two months.

What really made my day was that she told me that I was at the top of the tier for weight loss with the band. I have lost 52.2% of my excess body weight and anything above 40-45% is considered good. We both felt that my success has been switching to low carb eating and adding 5 hours of water aerobics a week.

I asked about my stomach pain and she thought that maybe it was Gastritis (SP) and told me to take Prilosec once a day before breakfast. She said that it should clear up in a few days but that if I was still having pain when I go back next month that we would need to look into some tests. I hope it is as simple as this.

I weighed in at 247.5lbs and have 2.25cc's in my 4.0cc band. I am a happy little dudette today.

  2. Another Fill Today

Thank God! I thought that I was going to gain everything I lost back but I got another fill today so I am hoping this will get me some good restriction.

I met up with my Doctor in the Elevator today! We had a nice chat. I told him that I have to travel 2 hours to see him but he's worth it. LOL!

I asked Dr. L about my goal weight and he said that he doesn't like to set a goal weight because he doesn't want you to get discouraged if you don't get down to it. He indicated that there are specific guidelines and I told him I knew that my ideal weight is between 155-175 and he thought that for my height that it was to low. He said go until you feel good. Which is what I was planning to do anyway. I also told him I don't remember ever being under 200lbs and that would be my next goal. I want to get to onederland. 60lbs away from it....with the extra 3lbs that I have gone up in the last week. Hopefully, I have that gone in a few days with being on liquids.

I am feeling a little different with this fill. I don't know if it is just me or what but I feel fuller even without eating. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I weighed in at the Doc's office at 263.50lbs. I go by my scale which is 3.5lbs lighter. So my real weight today was 260.
  3. What is it about the 6 month timeframe. It seems to be the time that I sabotage myself with every diet. About 2 years ago, I went on NutriSystem and lasted about 6 months and then went off the wagon. I am finding that I am kind of feeling a little bored with things. I find that I am eating things I probably shouldn't and that I am more hungry than normal. I am sure it is head hunger and not physical hunger but never the less difficult.

Take today for example, I haven't been able to stop snacking today. I feel hungry but I know that I have eaten enough. It goes to show you that your head is going to be the worst enemy you have during the journey.

I am so close to 100lbs lost and can't seem to lose the 3lbs I need to, to get there. I have done well but I want my head to shut up.

    Todays eating:

Breakfast: Quaker Weight Loss Control Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal & 1 cup of milk

Lunch: Taco meat, cheese, sour cream & salsa sauce.

Snack: I was still hungry so I ate some chips, 2 graham crackers with peanut butter on them and a bowl of air popped popcorn with some butter and garlic & parmesean cheese sprinkles and a SF Choc. Pudding. Damn...I wish I didn't do this...the old habits are to hard to break sometimes.

Dinner: Will be pork chop, corn & rice

I am trying to drink lots of water and hope to go for a 3 mile walk today to get rid of the calories that I ingested today.
  4. Day 19

It is hard to believe that I have made it 19 days. It has been alot easier than I had ever thought. I survived the 2 week Pre-op diet which I thought was going to be hard and turned out to be easier that expected. The surgery went very smooth. The only thing that I thought was hard was recovery. I thought I was superwoman and started to do more than I could and my body told me that I was not ready.

I started on Stage 3 of the diet the day before Thanksgiving; so I had something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving..."That I could eat real food". So far the diet has been easy to follow, I find that I am a little more hungry but I can just eat something small and no more than 1 cup of food. I feel satisfied. I do know that this is the homeymoon period and that things will change.

I see my surgeon on Thursday for my post-op and I hope that he will be pleased with my 40 pound loss since my pre-surgical visit in August.

I lost 24lbs prior to surgery and have lost 16lbs since surgery. I am pleased with the weightloss so far.

"For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you...."

Lord, I can do all things through you. You have given me this Lapband as a tool to overcome my addiction to food. Please help to me to use this tool to help me. Help me today. I pray for all Bandsters that struggle..help them too.
