  9. I think the pre op diet its good because besides "shrinking your liver" it also helps you go through all the food/caffeine/sugar/carbs withdrawal, it teaches you to identify your head hunger vs tummy hunger * after surgery your head hunger will be under control so 1 thing less to worry while in bed w other pains. My surgery isn't until the 26th so yes even when my surgeon just said to control my eating n not to gain no more than 5% of my original weight even then i decided to follow a diet (Protein shakes breakfast n dinner; 3-4oz lean baked protein w 1/2 veggies lunch; also made homemade beef Soup n strained it; Snacks sf Jello, sf popsicle or my beef broth. The first 3 -4 days are the hardest but it becomes doable. You get to learn so much about Proteins. N remember proteins will be our best friend for the rest of our lives
  10. Have u tried the 1 walmart sells by Body Fortress? Its pretty good n I mix it with skim milk.

  13. Yes. I can relate. My surgery is the 26th, he is to remove the 50% of the band he left in there back in January, now he said that on the 26th he will do the removal n the sleeve, I dont necessary believe him anymore because when my port got infected we agreed to remove the band n when I woke up he only removed the port *he made me feel so mad but I stayed with him to give him a chance to fix his error. How can a doctor say he is going to do 1 thing & does whatever he wants? He had the nerves to asked me "dont you want the port on the other side" wtfffff doctor if 1 side got infected y would I want it back besides it didnt help me. It even gave me a hernia. Im so frustrated!
  14. Hello I am also on march 26. How r u doing w ur pre op?
  15. Good morning Yesterday was tough, my boyfriend ate some crackers in front of me and I was mad, I wanted my broth w crackers but I have will power at least for a couple of days lol. I know my surgeon isn't worry about me doing a strict diet as long as I dont gain more than 5% of my 225 original weight we are good to proceed w surgery but I still want 2 make things easier for him (& me) by shrinking my liver just a little. Today's diet is: breakfast 12 oz skim milk, 1 1/2 whey protein powder, & 1 cap of Miralax. Mid am : sugar free jello, lunch: 5 oz grilled chicken breast, mid pm: isopure no carb protein drink, & dinner: chicken broth w 2 eggs. I feel tired n people tell me I look it 2. Its hard to concentrate, I feel lethargic.
  16. If you able to lay down on your left side it will help you release gases.
  17. Thank you ladies for your kind words. Today is day 1 of my pre diet, minimal carbs, minimal sugar, protein & water, water, water. Woke up at 5:30 am, showered, make up, dressed n out the door, dear boyfriend fixed my 12 oz skim milk, 1 cap of Miralax n 1 1/2 of protein shake, drank this on my 1 hour drive to work. * I can't stop thinking about food & to make it even more exciting TOM is on the way so I am thinking snickers on the back of head* For lunch I will be eating 4 oz baked tilapia, for snacks sugar free jello n isopure zero carb grape flavor. For dinner another skim milk protein shake.
  18. Hello, I am in the process now, actually got approved by insurance with no problems (thanks God), my surgery is March 26th. On 1/15/14 had emergency surgery because my port got infected, b4 I was put to sleep surgeon said "lapband is coming out" and yes everything was ok until that point, we agreed that he was going to remove it, well guess what? he decided to just removed the port and leave 50% of the band in there so he can do another port in a later date %#$%$@#, I swear I am so mad at this doctor, what gives him the right to make a decision like that? OH well, now he has to take the other 50% and do the sleeve at the same time, but I am so scare that he still going to do whatever the heck he wants, at the end I will end up with a "map" in my belly. Hope you have better luck than me!
  19. I always thought it was ONLY me with problems with the band until I came here, my doctor never ever mention that there were others, he made me feel like a failure.
  20. I usually feel pretty until I see myself on a full pic, its like my face doesn't match my body, and now with all the co-morbidities it makes the feeling even worst. I am praying to feel good again, that I could be healthy again and be able to meet my grandkids one day. At only 42, my weight has been a roller coaster ride, I WANT OFF! Starting 2 weeks liquid diet tomorrow. I am full of mix feelings. Sw was 225, today is 212 with a bmi of 35.3 but with few co-morbidities which makes me a candidate for a revision from lapband to sleeve on March 26 only if the Doctor does as agreed, and he is known to do whatever he wants, lol.
