  1. I'm almost 2 months post-op and I've been doing very well. Besides some gas issues very early post-op, I haven't had any food issues. No nausea or throw up, I have a sleeve of steel. Drinking fluids has become sooooo easy. There have a few instance where I took a few big gulps out of old habits and nothing happened. It didn't feel great but I burped and I was fine. I've had spicy food and acidic foods and no issues. I've been losing steady of 1-3 lbs. a week for the last month and half which I'm ok with. I'm just floored how well I reacted to the sleeve. I'm sure when I up my exercise regime (beginning of the Jan.) I will feel even better. How is everyone else feeling? Does anyone feel like their waiting for the shoe to drop? Too good to be true? P.S. - Christmas has been hard. I've had a couple of Cookies but in moderation. Nothing compared to food hording in my Christmas pasts.

    Problematic Foods

Since being on my forever diet (1 month out) , I haven't had any problems. I've had bread (45 calorie slice ), rice (both white and brown), ice cream (no sugar added). I have come to the realization that food has its purpose. It is to nourish me. If it's not healthy then I am less likely to eat it. Whole grain bread, healthy carbs (fruit), and some starchy veggies are Ok in moderation. I have tried diet Pepsi and I don't like taste of it. Quite honestly, even if I have craving (because Lord knows I've had them) I'll usually eat something healthy but filling and I'm too full to even think about eating anything else.

    NSV - Crossing my legs!

That's awesome!!!! I didn't even realize I was doing either. I just sat down and it happened. I screamed at BF, "Look at my legs!" He was very confused why crossing m legs was such a big deal. Also, painting my toe nails is 4000x easier!
  6. And it didn't take an amazing amount of effort to swing my leg over my other. It didn't feel like my legs were going numb for holding them in that position. It was amazing and made me feel like such a "normal" woman.

    Do you enjoy cooking still?

I have been an avid baker and home cook for as long as I could remember. I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy it anymore but I still do. I've been doing a lot of baking recently since it's that season but I haven't even been tempted to try any of my creations. Cooking is just as fun. Since my surgery, my taste buds have changed drastically so it's like re-discovering a whole new world.

was this regular ice cream? Because I've tried no sugar added ice cream without any issues. Just a tip.

    1 month post op

I would check with your NUT since every plan is different. I was just given my soft diet outline today because I start the next stage tomorrow. I can eat a slice of bread or 1/2 pita or 1/2 bun or 1/2 tortilla Obviously all whole wheat.

5 days out.... Is this normal?

Everyone is different. I felt hunger and no restriction at about the 1 1/2 week mark. I would still try to eat slowly because you don't want to overeat. I've done it couple of time in the last 3 weeks and it's a miserable feeling. No worries though...just keep trucking along. Your sleeve will tell you when you've eaten too much or drank too much.

    Other People's Opinion

I have had a really supportive response from my friends and family which I'm so thankful for. I just didn't expect everyone to be giving me their uneducated opinion. It's always funny when someone is like "oh, I know someone who wasn't really successful with the bypass" or "I know someone who gained weight after the bypass". I just look at them and I'm like, "I got the gastric sleeve" It's more annoying than upsetting. I know everyone wants to feel like they're being helpful but it comes off rude sometimes.

    Other People's Opinion

Yeah, I know most their comments or questions are coming from a place of ignorance because obviously they just don't know but it is still rude. I guess I'm going to have get use to explain my sleeves limits. Thanks for your reply.
