For me it comes down to money. My insurance does not cover weight loss surgery and I don't have $15,000. I can get the sleeve in Mexico for $5,000. Surgeons are qualified and facilities are clean.

I am late jumping on this thread but I am being sleeved on May 30 in Mexico. Should arrive at 1:35pm on Thursday in San Diego.

May 30th sleeve here. Very nervous all of a sudden. I'm on day 3 of liquid diet, made it through a BBQ yesterday without a bite! Do not ask me how I did that!

I'm scheduled for 5/30 and just now starting to get nervous.

Hey all!! I've made a little spreadsheet so we can keep track of everyone! I'll update it and make a new thread each week on Saturday with the updated info on everyone... sound good? I know we area all so far apart and I don't have a support group for after surgery, so you guys are it! I look forward to talking with everyone as we go along... tips, tricks, losses, NSVs and ideas! (Like those popsicles, I just ordered some molds from Amazon and they should arrive before I go so I can get some in the fridge! I bought some other non flavored Syntrax nectar Protein that I plan to mix with some stuff to make popsicles too.)

Just picked my clear Isopure drink from GNC. I'm sure my husband is ready for this to over with. I have him going through every scenario that could possibly happen and buying supplies. 5 days from now I will be sleeved.

Lol that's good if you didn't cheat. Good willpower. :-) As far as the diet I haven't had to do one. I am only required to do a one day clear liquids the day before surgery. I guess I got lucky. But I have just yesterday cut out all badness. No more fries or burgers. Today I had a shake for Breakfast and then a huge salad for lunch. So I'm trying myself to loose 10lbs before surgery which is next thrush at as you are fully aware of. As we have the same date.. :-) lol. Wishful thinking maybe but I'm gonna do good. WE are going to do great. Nice to chat with you. :-)

Great to hear from all of you! I am having mine done in Mexico with Dr. Ariel Ortiz. I have butterflies in my empty stomach, I bet, ten times a day. I did my research and picked who I think is best for me.
Sooo... here we all go.

I don't miss shopping in the tiny plus sized section of the store that was mostly old lady clothes.
I don't miss my thighs chaffing together.
I don't miss the boob sweat or underboob rash.
I don't miss huffing and puffing on family walks.
I don't miss being the fat mom at every event.
I don't miss the dread of running into someone I've not seen in years cuz I'd gained so much weight.
I don't miss having to have every hair in place and makeup done every time I left the house because I didn't want to be the sloppy fat lady.
I don't miss sweating uncontrollably doing every day tasks.
I don't miss feeling cramped in a bathroom stall, turning sideways going down an aisle or squeezing past people and still bumping them.
I don't miss having to request a table over a booth or if one was not available, squeezing in, belly and boobs resting against the table.
I don't miss being unable to paint my own toenails and breathing at the same time.
I don't miss wearing all black all the time cuz no one would be able to tell that I was fat if I did that. (Eye roll)
I don't miss making excuses to get out of doing stuff because being so fat made me so tired...
I could go on forever. Nope. I don't miss a thing.

We have a May 30th thread and you are welcome to join us. We should just switch it to memorial weekend sleeves!

I am scheduled for my sleeve May 28th. Just wanted some friends to associate with before and after the process.

Yay and congrats. Mine is the 29th so just over a week. I only found the one my doc does as far as support groups that's kind of why I was trying to meet some co folks :-)
This is a great support group here actually. But having someone to talk to face to face is maybe more comforting. Best wishes. And keep me posted.
