I will not miss dreading going to some function or another because people will see how fat I am and my fiancé is skinny and them probably wondering what he's doing with me.
I will not miss over eating
I will not miss feeling guilty about everything I put in my mouth
I will not miss having to figure out what diet to try next
I will not miss being overweight
I will not miss being able to eat way more than my fiancé at times and wondering what he is thinking when he sees I have more food on my plate than he does but I'm soooo hungry I don't care

Kaiser Perm South Sac Bariatric program is rated one of the best in the country. I'm confident with their choice of no pre-op diet. Very thankful too.

My Dr only requires one day of liquids 24 hours prior to surgery ...It is strange how every Dr has their own plan. What are doing as far as Vitamins for after surgery ... I am very confused on what to get...

I finally got my surgery date. May 29th. 3 weeks away. No preop diet. Just Clear Liquids the day before. So very excited an happy to be joint the other side. :-)

Thanks for the translation Alex, appears the surgery was COSMETIC surgery and not WLS in this case.

There are bad doctors in EVERY country and EVERY field. On a personal note, it seems like I've met quite a few of them too. My original PCP was asked to "leave" the medical system he was in, strongly urged to "leave immediately" is what I heard, before the malpractice suits started rolling in. I had left him soon after I met him, it was obvious he was a bozo.

So excited!!! My surgery is scheduled for June 3rd!!! But now I feel a bit nervous too...I have to do a 2 wk pre-op diet which is because I have a BMI of 50...otherwise he only does a 2 day liquid diet...but that's okay more time to prepare. OMG! Can't wait!

My Dr. only requires certain people to do a Pre-op diet, I don't know if i will be on one or not, and he's at a Center of Excellence and I know several of his patients and they have done great!

yes,,,, suggestion.. i would do a preop diet for the liver. you need your fatty liver to decrease to avoid possible complications.. im not sure why no preop diet and i would watch that!!!!! Serioulsly trying to help.

My surgery is tomorrow, and I just can stay still, it's all I can do to type this post! I've got a lot of nervous energy, just want to get on the other side of this one! Keep me in your prayers everyone! Tomorrow is my BIG day!

Surgery is in a couple of hours and I'm so nervous I don't know what to do. Can't think, can't sleep ugh! Just don't know what to do with myself right now.. Help!!! o_O

Blender bottles -1 have two different sizes and even 4 1/2 months out I use them every day

Drinkable yogurt ... Kefir had less sugar than a lot of other ones (very encouraged by my nut, but check with your surgeon to make sure this is on your OK list)
GasX strips
Mio or Dasani drops or crystal light or tea bags...something to add to Water since a lot of people have a hard time drinking plain Water postop. (I couldn't drink it until 3+ months out)
Elastic waist pants - you will be very swollen and bloated. I couldn't wear jeans for 2 weeks.
Comfy (loose) bra - most people have an incision right in the middle at bra strap level
A lot of people have issues with Constipation, so you may want to consider Metamucil, benefiber, Miralax, milk of magnesia, etc.

I know there is a thread about what to take to the hospital, but is there a thread of what to have on hand at home? if not any advice would be appreciated

I wish I knew that my arm pits would truly become pits! So much harder to shave! LOL!

I wish I had known I was the " fat friend" to my best friend, she has been super hateful to me with every pound I lose her comments get uglier, I was told my apples would fall from the tree and only real friends would stay. ,
