    Vitamins after surgery

I started taking my vitamins after I was discharged (2 days). I was not allowed to take my Citrate until my 6 week follow up.
  2. I packed a bag but didn't need anything out of it but my robe. The hospital provided all items. I had gas strips packed but was not allowed to use them. I wore my jogging suit upon admission and discharge. Travel light and good luck!

    Nectar protein powder

I have tried all flavors and they do not disappoint. It's hard to pinpoint which one I highly flavor. I go to Vitamin Shoppe and purchase a large container of whatever flavor they have available.
  4. I only told my significant other and my sister. Sometimes people can be too judgemental and condescending. It was best for me not to share the journey with people.
  5. I learned that the hard way......going to bed too soon after eating. Now I try to eat 2 hours before going to bed.
  6. I was self-pay and I paid with my credit card and my doctor was willing to take cash, debit, check, cashier's check, money order, etc. It does seem strange. You may need to do some more research or he may have been burned in the past (ijs).

    Driving after surgery

^^ I drove the 3rd day with a drain still in. After 2 hours I was so exhausted felt like I walked a full day at an amusement park so I limited driving to quick errands.
  8. I had my procedure 12/08/2015. Last weekend I was having really bad cramps that went away the next day. Last night I started to feel pain in my right side under my rib cage. The pain is between where I had my JP drain and my largest incision site. When I touched the area it was tender and I could feel a nodule so I placed a heating pad on it for approximately 20 minutes. No luck the pain was still there. I decided I needed to come to the ER and now I'm sitting here with an IV waiting to get a cat scan as the NP indicated the nodule/abscess is the size of a pea. I am praying and hoping it's nothing major.

Why is it so hard to down water?!

I tell my husband this all the time but he swears all water taste and go down the same. My favorite water is penta, it's a little expensive but taste great and goes down smooth. LOL mine says it taste the same also and tell him it does not. I cannot drink Dasani as I taste all the minerals in it and it makes me nausea. I am going to have to try Penta.

Why is it so hard to down water?!

I drink Fiji or Voss water because of the silky smooth texture. No two waters are alike.

At the ER with burning pain

Bellabloom hope you start feeling better soon.
  12. I am 7 weeks out and down to 168 from 200. My NUT said I should be at goal soon. I have more energy but I still have challenges on what to eat. Overall it's been going good.
  13. 4 weeks for me. It was great to help me recover at a slow pace and regain my energy.

    stop the food funerals

I was a lower BMI and self pay so I didn't have the insurance requirements to lose a certain amount of weight prior to my procedure. I did a food funeral and for me it was great and I indulged in the foods I knew I would not be able to have. I wanted to taste the flavor "one last time". I was able to complete my two weeks pre-op diet with no issues. I went to my 6 week post-op and down 30 lbs.

    Anyone from Memphis?

I had my sleeve December 8, 2015. I was looking for fellow sleevers from Memphis prior to my surgery and they are like a needle in a haystack. If you have any questions let me know. My surgeon was Dr. Wegner.
  18. I was self pay Memphis, TN as well. Approximately 15k for gastric sleeve at COE. Attended 2 classes, psych, blood work, and EGD which was done in April. I could have scheduled surgery within 2 weeks after initial visit but waited to celebrate my and significant other birthdays. I was concerned about complications but I prayed about it and left it in God's hands. So far I am 6 weeks and have been doing well.

Surgeons don't always have the best plan

Hi I am in the Collierville area. I had/have a wonderful surgeon. I am 6 weeks post op but boy oh boy did I use the after hours number and he would return all my calls. PM me if you need someone to talk to.

How many days off work ?

I was out a month and it was worth it. I would get fatigued after two hours if I did anything (running errands). I just wanted to rest and regain my strength.
  21. I'm sorry to hear of your challenges. I wish you a speedy recovery.

    December Sleevers

My sleeve was December 8th as well. I have lost 29 lbs (including pre-op) and have been stalled for a little over a week. I will start working out tomorrow as I have to break this stall.
  23. I had a drain for a week. Had to clean around it everyday with warm water and antibacterial soap or I would lather the towel really well in the shower and squeeze the water and soap from the towel to let it run over the drain site. Afterwards I put take a large gauze bandage cut a slit in it and place around the drain site and tape it up. Oh yea had to empty it everyday but they were wrong for not providing you with instructions.
