    Who is in March?

I had my surgery March 11th, and left the hospital yesterday, March 13th. For me the couple of hours in recovery were hell, but I just kept telling my muddled brain that it will continue getting better, minute by minute, and it did. After 3 or 4 hours I felt pretty decent and it has continued to improve. I haven't need too much pain medication, and nothing for nausea, and I would say the worst thing is the discomfort from the staples, which is basically kept in check by some tylenol. If, like me, you haven't had surgery before you should know that you will quickly get used to having IVs and injections and people asking if you've been farting or not There will be low points but they all pass. In my experience the nurses were great, and with some visits from a friend, and a laptop loaded with a bunch of tv shows and movies I hadn't seen it all went about as well as can be expected. I just want to encourage those that have yet to have the operation that there is a strong possibility for a completely smooth recovery and don't be too frightened of what bad things may happen, because you can't control it anyways. If you were strong enough to make the decision to go through with it you will be strong enough to handle whatever comes your way. Try to think of how much you have to gain in your life by losing. Good luck.

    Who is in March?

Well, 5 or 6 hours post op and feeling much better. The first 30 minutes were not much fun, but have continuously felt better and after a couple decent naps the discomfort is not too bad at all. Good luck to the rest of you going today, and the rest of the month.
  3. Ah yes, the dreaded extension. It's not uncommon to see others need the extension home in Canada, but almost unheard of here in Norway. I had gotten to a point where I rarely needed the extension, and then recently back to the point where I needed it all the time and decided to do something about it. Seems to be a lot of travel/airplane related stories here. I guess when forced to sit in a seat that comfortably holds the majority of the population you have many hours to contemplate what has gone wrong. Here's hoping that by my next trip I won't need an extension anymore

    Who is in March?

I am also scheduled for March 11th. Feels like I should be posting a bit more on here. I live in Norway but come from Canada (as my username suggests) and I don't have a big circle to rely on for support, nor many (if any) friends that know anything about struggling with weight. Strangely enough it seems I may be one of the few on a non-liquid diet. I am supposed to do 1000 calories a day for two weeks, they don't recommend liquids because it will be all liquids afterwards. A bit scared but also hopeful, and looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life. Good luck everyone!
