Realizing that you don't have 100(+) pounds to lose anymore! Talk about a huge weight lifted!
Also going to the store, (not a plus size store) and them not having any of your size, not because you are too big, but because you are officially "Average" so they sell out of those sizes quickly

SoonergirlLayla got a reaction from skinnygirlwithin in You know you lost weight when
When your husband picks you up and carries to the bed and throws you onto it, just because he can
Also, I'm really close to this one because so I am getting excited for it: when you FINALLY weigh less than your husband, because he has never struggled with his weight. 10lbs to go !!!

SoonergirlLayla got a reaction from BeagleLover in Were u always overweight or become as an adult?
I have always been "the chunky girl." As a child I wasn't obese, but I was plump. My uncle nick named me "2 tons of fun" and I was called that for years, and internally, it shamed me. I gained progressively until high school, and then I started playing sports so I plateaued at around 215. In college I was always the "fat friend" and my weight settled around the 240's. On my wedding day 5 years ago I weight 260... In 2012, after my son's 2nd birthday party I saw the pictures of myself and was horrified. I went to the scale to find that I had made it all the way to 312 lbs. I knew that I had to do something, and from that point on I was determined to lose this weight! Today I am 202 (almost 4 months post op and 96lbs down)and I am anxiously awaiting ONEDERLAND because I honestly don't remember a time in my life since I was conscience of my weight that I weight under 200 lbs! Praying these next 3 lbs melt away so that I can feel what it's like to not weigh 200 plus pounds

You can answer, "Either is fine with me.", when asked, "Would you like a table or a booth?"

7 months out and I still haven't tried one. Can't think of one good reason to go there!

I have always been fat . . . born small but when I was a toddler I won "biggest tummy" at the 4th of July pageant. I have never been a normal weight since then. Right now I have about 15 lbs to go to hit a healthy BMI. I can't wait!

Women retain Water during their monthly cycle. You could try adding a natural diuretic during that week to reduce the Water retention.
I put a 1/4 of a lemon in my water bottle, skin and all. It's a natural diuretic and helps water taste a lil better :-)

SoonergirlLayla reacted to minniexoxo in This is so difficult!
Coming from a large family holidays and gatherings have always been associated with food. This past Easter we had a big picnic with all the great fixings. As I approached the tables it was difficult to look at all the food and not want to eat some of everything. For a brief moment I became resentful. I took a deep breath and reminded my self that even if I could stuff my face with all this great food it would only be a few minutes of pleasure. Compared to the misery I felt being obese, wearing xx t- shirts everyday, looking in the mirror and hating myself. It would not be worth it.
Having the surgery does have some challenges, but I truly believe as time goes by your addiction to food does calm down and when you look in the mirror and see the progress you have made then YOU WILL KNOW it was WORTH IT!!

It really does get better. Try to look at the positive that is going to come from this. The longer you work at the easier it is to use your tool effectively. You will see the lbs come off, and at some point you will feel so liberated to not feel controlled by food. For the first few weeks of soft foods I lived on refried Beans with a little shredded cheese and low sodium taco sauce, string cheese, and eggs (either scrambled or hard boiled). after 7 weeks, I could tolerate dark meat chicken shredded and very soft green beans. It was all easier after that. I will be 3 months out on Sunday and I have lost 54 lbs since surgery, and bought a size 15 jeans today that were not in the plus size section I was a 24/26 in jeans from lane Bryant before this... Just hang in there. Soon you will be thanking your lucky stars for your second chance at life! -

SoonergirlLayla reacted to lsereno in TOO SKINNY
Oh, ha ha! I had people telling me that PRE-OP. You're too skinny to have surgery (Really? I'm 5'6" topped out at around 260 and was 254 when I joined the Kaiser Bariatric Program). I started hearing "don't lose any more" around 180 lbs, but I just kept going till I got to MY goal of 135.
There's lots of possibilities. One, I think we do look gaunt in the face as the weight drops rapidly, esp. if your hair thins too, which mine did. Two, people are used to seeing you supersized, so approaching normal looks really thin to them. Three, some people just don't want you to get thinner than they are.
Whatever, do what's best for you and keep smiling.
