  1. I had my first fill today. I was 3 wks post op on Thursday of last week so now about 3.5 wks. The fill went with no problems. Put in 2 cc. Late this evening I developed an itchy, raised rash over most of my stomach. I haven't changed detergent/soap or tried any new food. Could this be related somehow to my fill? I took benadryl and put hydrocortisone cream on and the itchiness is better but the rash is still there. It isn't any worse and only on my belly. I plan to call doctor in the morning. Any thoughts?

  3. Just got home from my first fill. It was a piece of cake! He only put a little in (2-3cc), as he likes to increase slowly. I have to be on liquids for next 24 hrs. I don't feel any restriction with protein shake, but will see with real food tomorrow!!
  4. Just have to hang in there. I didn't lose anything for a week, then only 1 lb last week. It is discouraging. I'm going for first fill tomorrow morning and I think that will def help.
  5. I lost 17 lbs initially with liquid diet a week before and post op, but haven't lost any in over a week. Haven't gained any either so I guess that's good.
  6. I definitely will! Pizza topping is a good idea. Could also make like a 'crustless' pizza. I used to make it when I did low carb years ago. I put sauce and veggies and other toppings like pepperoni, banana peppers with cheese on top in a square baking dish and baked it. I need to do that again maybe.
  7. My port is very prominent. I can feel it with no problem. My problem I think is that incision is perfect height that I bump it on everything. My others are healed great. This one looks good, just sore.
  8. Mine has no fluid in it. They just place it during surgery and you come back at 3-4 weeks for first fill. I definitely need it. So far I have kept from eating bad but it won't last.....lol I want some pizza!!
  9. Yesterday made 3 weeks post op for me. I feel hardly any restriction. I go for my first fill on Monday. I'm so ready. I feel like I haven't had weight loss surgery. I can eat anything. I have even eaten a little toasted bread today with no restriction. The incision where my port is located is still very sore. The others I hardly notice. Hoping that goes away soon. It feels like my port is very close to skin. I can feel the whole outline of it when I touch it, and when I'm standing it actually protrudes a little.
  10. My belly was very distended for several days. I didn't have many stretch marks before surgery, but gained a couple from the swelling/distention! ????
  11. The shoulder pain lasted about 10 days for me. I walked, I used heat, ice, Tylenol, rx pain meds, gas x. It just eventually went away. It was worse to me than the surgical incisions.
  12. If was a nice feeling not to be so completely stuffed that I was miserable.
  13. Mine look good too. They were pretty itchy in the beginning.
  14. My port is close to the top of my stomach, off to the right a lil and about a few inches below my bra. I have 5 total incisions total. None are in my belly button.
  15. I took mine off on day 3 post op. I have an allergy to any adhesive, even band aids, and I couldn't stand the itching. Your incisions are stitched on the inside, and the steri strips just help hold the skin closed until it heals together some to minimize the scarring.
  16. They applied mine in the hospital just before surgery.
  17. So I may have cheated a little today on my 'soft' food diet. I had to have something crunchy and all I could find were croutons....and I had 2 or 3.....and they were amazing!!!!! LOL
  18. I'm thinking the same thing.....lol
  19. I will be 2 weeks post op on Thanksgiving. I'm still on soft/puréed food, but feel no restriction. I think that Thanksgiving will be tough. I'm not sure if I should experiment with a little more 'solid' food or just try to stick with the plan.
  20. I had surgery on 11/13 and I'm right there with you. I initially lost 17 lbs with preop diet and surgery, but haven't lost anymore. I'm on soft foods and desperately want to 'crunch' on something......lol. I feel little restriction, but feel like I could eat just about anything. I'm trying to stay focused. My first follow up/fill will be Dec 8. Not sure how Thanksgiving with the family will go.
  21. I feel like, for myself, some caffeine in moderation is ok. My doctor recommends no caffeine, but others are okay with it. It then becomes a personal decision about what is best for you.
  22. I'm 11 days post op lap band and I am struggling to get many calories per day. How many calories is enough? Everything I eat/drink is low cal, sugar free, and am only getting 600-700 cal/day. I'm not hungry, and make myself get that. I'm still in the puréed diet phase so I'm sure I will add calories as I add food.
  23. I have had luck with egg beaters with a little shredded cheese. Cook in microwave till done, but not rubbery.
  24. These are my absolutely favorite!!
  25. I'm 11 days post op and still feel pain in my left shoulder blade are. Can't get rid of it. I've tried heating pad, Tylenol, gas x, walking. Any other suggestions?
