  1. I have some lactose intolerance issues as well. I've been eating soft scrambled eggs (egg beaters) with a little shredded, melted cheese. I cook them in the microwave for a couple minutes.
  2. It also includes soft scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, mashed potatoes, etc
  3. My doc recommends 7-10 days full liquid after, then puréed/soft. I had surgery on 13 th and since I've moved to soft/puréed it's much easier....more choices.
  4. I've had an ice pack on them all day. It helps a lot
  5. I'm 9 days post op and I feel great. I wore a pair of jeans yesterday that I haven't worn forever! My only issue is that my incisions are itching me to death!! I've used hydrocortisone cream, and benadryl and it helps a little, but not much. Any thoughts?
  6. My doc recommended children's chewables. They don't recommend gummies as they may stick.
  7. I am 1 week post op lap band and have had the same issue. I came home expecting to be constipated. Not so much....lol
  8. I just wasn't thinking. I knew i should have cut it. Again.....lesson learned.....lol ????
  9. I am 6 days post op and today my allergy medicine Allegra got stuck going down. It was one of the most uncomfortable feelings I've ever had. It's a fairly large pill and I should probably cut it but I just wasn't thinking. After about 20 min I literally felt it pass through the band and I immediately had relief. For the time it was stuck I was sweaty and felt like I couldn't breathe. It was awful. CUT UP BIG PILLS! I never want to feel that again.
  10. I have to make myself eat something every couple hrs. I have no appetite, especially for liquids. I'm drinking my water, but getting very few calories. I'm tracking in myfitnesspal.
  11. I am 4 days post op. I am surprised as well at how good I feel. I haven't taken any narcotics since my first day home. I've just taken some Tylenol here and there. The gas pain in my shoulders has been the worst for me, but it is slowly fading. My incisions aren't really painful unless I bump them on something, just sore abdominal muscles like I've done a million sit-ups. I slept on my couch first 2 nights because I was afraid I couldn't get back out of my bed....lol I came home with some swelling from the IV fluids and I weighed more than I did pre op. Finally getting that fluid off. Down to my preop weight today.
  12. I finally had to take the steri strips off. They were blistering my skin. My incisions look good. Just swipe them with alcohol on cotton ball couple times a day.
  13. The hiccups were very uncomfortable. Lesson learned.....slow down!
  14. I had a scope before surgery that didn't show a hernia. After surgery my doc said he saw a small one once he got in there and repaired it when he placed my band.
  15. I feel way better than I expected. This is day 3 for me and the only pain I have is in my shoulders and neck that's just hanging on. My incisions feel fine unless I bump them on something. I have an allergy to adhesive so the steri strips are itching me like crazy. Taking benadryl to help until I can get those off. Doc said leave them until they come off, but I don't think I can wait that long! Taking eating very slow, but yesterday I drank too much too fast and had horrible hiccups.
  16. I feel much better than I expected I would. Yesterday was kind of tough with the soreness, but it already fading. I have noticed when I try to eat pudding or something close in consistency I get hiccups. I am assuming that is a sign that I've eaten too fast.
  17. I had surgery on Thursday and came home yesterday evening. I feel way better than I expected, just sore throughout my whole body. My incisions don't hurt much unless I accidentally bump them on something. I ate a few bites of cottage cheese and some pudding last night and it went down with no problem. Still sticking to mostly fluids. My throat is a little sore from anesthesia tube but overall I feel good. Gonna attempt a hot shower shortly hoping it will help with the soreness some. So happy to be finished with the surgery part and ready to move on....
  18. I had a lapband placed yesterday and I feel way better than I expected to. I have very little incisional pain that I kept ice on. Have a bit of soreness in shoulder blades and chest from the gas (I assume). I've been up walking the halls of the hospital every few hours. So ready to go home and start the new me! Just waiting for my dr to come around and discharge me. I'm tolerating fluids, jello, broth, etc. haven't tried anything else yet.
  19. Had to stay overnight in the hospital, but hoping to be discharged soon. Feeling okay, just a little sore.
  20. Today is the day!! It's finally here. It's been a long journey, but I'm ready. I'm a little nervous just for surgery in general, but I know I've made the right decision for a new me!! I'll keep you posted on my progress.
  21. I have a fitbit and I attach in on my bra. I love it and wear it everyday. I look forward to seeing how much I walk. I'm an RN and do a lot of walking at work.
  22. Thank you so much!!
