Morning. You would have to discuss that with your doctor. I can tell you after I was banded my doctors stopped my diabetes meds and all my cholesterol drugs. My cardiologist is watching my blood pressure to make sure it doesn't drop to low. I always had border line high blood pressure. Everyone is different talk to you doctors.

Siren , First of all I was banded on Aug 1, 2008 and I just got off soft and mushy food... I am just starting solid foods. I can have moist chicken no breasts unless it is in a sauce.. By the 24th of next month the doctor wants me on all solid foods.. He said the last things I would try would be meat.. Now he wants me on soft meats and chew well. Sea food is good.. So it might be that you are not quite ready for some things... Today I had my first PB. Not fun at all. It started with slime... Slime is a really heavy saliva. Your body produces it to pass the food stuck... This is a really scary thing and very painful. My problem was I did not pay attention to what I was doing and didn't chew my chicken well enough.. Take your time and chew chew chew.....

Thanks all you PBers... I had my first PB and if I had not read all your experiences I would have paniced... It was so scary and painful.. I remembered all I had read and when the slime came I knew what it was. It was not fun. I will chew my chicken until there is nothing left. I eat chicken all the time but I was doing something else and eating and I guess I can't walk and chew gum at the same time... I want to say Thanks....... I really need you guys... I wish this kind of support was around when I had my kids....I'm also glad you are willing to share....

Hi I have Cronhs I'm the first to get a band with Dr. Vierra.. He said they are starting to get a band.. I'm also on Pentasa the same dosage and I just have to take time getting them down. I have not had a fill yet my doc starts you on the operating with you first fill. I will get another maybe next month. so far no problem.

My doctor said if I'm not hungry don't eat.....I ask if I could skip meals... and he repeated if you are not hungry don't eat.............. I should add I haven't had that problem.

Can't wait to try this one...

Hi I was banded 22 days ago. No problems at all. I now really don't feel anything at all. The only time I feel my port is when I ride in a car.. I also feel it when I walk real fast. But nothing to complain about.. I named my port. Abby. Made it a little more me....

Hi. This is normal.. I left the hospital more than when I weighed in... It started to drop back in 3 days...I'm 18 days out and 11 pounds lost... They tell me as soon as I get off squisy food to real food you will gain... Good Luck

Hi Good for you hope you are doing good... I was banded Aug. 1, 2008 and I will see my doc for the first time tomorrow... His office got a summer cold and he has a policy if they are sick they will not see post op's. i like that but I had to stay on squishitys longer... Good luck... We have about the same to loose.

I was banded on 8-1-08 and I didn't have any gas.... I walked right after surgery no problem and no gas....I'm two weeks out and I feel like it never happened... Oh the 12 pounds gone is good.

I had a biopsy when I had my band surgery. They said I have non alcoholic Steatohepatitis. Has anyone had this same diagnosis. They say you have to loose weight slower... Boo Hooo

Went to the doc today (my MD) he said while I was in surgery getting my band they took a biopsy of my liver.... I didn't know that. I guess they do it or this doc does on fatty livers.... and I have non contagious Hepatitus.... Boy what a shock... I was not ready for this one.. Has anyone else been thought this.....

It won't, NO,NO,Time will tell,don't know......I'm in a fog in shock I was hoping someone of my band buddies might have gone through this....

I just got word from the dr. the biopsy done during my lap band surgery has come back.... I have non contagious Hepatitis... Has any one gone through this....:wink2:
