    Feeling Full

Hi, guys! I am just over a week post op with the DS and I'm having trouble noticing when I am full. I rarely ever feel really hungry, but when I sit down and eat 3 oz of food, I don't feel the sensation of being full. I stop at that amount because I don't want to over fill my stomach. Anyone have any comments on what the "full sensation" feels like now? Or what to expect?
  2. How do you people eat only 500-700 a day? I am hungry ALL the time and probably average 900-1200 a day. I feel this surgery was a waste of time, as I'm not losing much and it hasn't helped at all with hunger. And no, it's not "head" hunger. I know the difference.

HELP! My incision is killing me.

Mine started getting REALLY bad after 4 weeks. In fact, so bad I couldn't walk. And, it was just "normal" incision pain. The doctor will probably tell you that it's normal to feel pain in the major incision because of the movement and stitching of the muscle during surgery. This pain was the worst pain I've ever experienced! Even worse than just after surgery.

    Almost 6weeks out rant

I was sleeved October 21, 2014. I weighed 234 the day of surgery. I'm only 215 now and I had to fight like hell to get that weight loss. In fact, it's been a month since I lost anything. So, I'm pretty sure the surgery was a waste of time. There is no need for you to be upset... It could be a lot worse!
  5. I had pain in the same area, but mine was so bad I couldn't walk... And all I did to trigger it was sing a lot (I'm an opera singer). It lasted about 5 days until I sneezed one day and I felt the internal stitch come loose (the dissolvable one). I was about 5 weeks out when this happened but it was the worst pain I ever experienced in my life.

    Pre-op Diet Troubles

I'm not a chocolate fan either, but I don't like their vanilla. And the strawberry has seeds in it so after surgery it will have to be strained, so I don't use it.

    Pre-op Diet Troubles

The shakes I did were premiere protein from Sams. I started with the opti fast, but that for sure made me very sick. Premiere is what I am using now.

    Pre-op Diet Troubles

I didn't pick up a stomach bug. Unfortunately, for the entire two weeks, I was sick. I threw up pretty much everything I drank. My body wouldn't tolerate the drastic change. It was horrible. I stuck through it though, and my surgery was on the 21st. I am home now, on the full liquid diet, but with less restrictions... And I don't have to have everything sugar free as long as I water down my juices and such. I feel much better physically, but I am counting down the days until I can actually eat again.

    New Sleeve

I got sleeved today! It all happened so fast! But, finally, it's done and over with. I'm in a lot of pain and very thirsty, but I'm sure it'll pass! Looking forward to the next steps in my journey!

    Sleeve and Mental Illness

It seems like this post was about me, to the "T". I have bipolar disorder, among a few other mental health disorders, PCOS, arthritis really bad in both of my knees, and I weigh almost 250 lbs. but, I'm getting sleeved tomorrow. If you are controlled, with the right medications, there is no reason why you can't have the surgery and live a normal life.
  11. I have been on my pre op diet for a week now and all I have been doing is throwing up. Every protein shake makes me nauseous, diet ginger ale won't even suffice. I don't really know how I'm going to make it through another week of this.... AND then still not be able to eat anything for several weeks after surgery.
  12. So, I started my pre-op diet 5 days ago. It is the opti fast diet, consisting of 4 shakes and one protein soup for the day, plus any sugarless drinks and fat free broth I would like. However, the last two days I have done nothing but throw up everything I consume. I feel miserable. I called my nutritionist and she says she hasn't heard of anyone having problems, but I'm wondering if this is true. Have any of you had this same issue? What did you do? I honestly don't know how I will make it through two weeks of this.
  13. Hey! So I got a call this afternoon from the Cleveland Clinic to set up some tests and then my psych evaluation. This is my first appointment in the whole process and I'm a bit nervous. First, I don't know what to expect. I have dealt with depression my whole life, but I feel a lot of it has to do with my weight issues. I'm afraid I might say something that might delay the process, and seriously I can't live like this much longer. Then, I have Medicare. So, I'm nervous that insurance isn't going to cover the procedure. And I wonder if there's financing for people with less than perfect credit in situations as these. I'm just anxious in so many ways, but really just can't wait to get my life in order.

    Tea lovers speak up!

Teavana has the best teas... Especially the decaffeinated kind. I especially like the blueberry Kona pop, and the berry colada. But there are tons of flavors to choose from. I used to HATE tea until I discovered this store. I highly recommend it!
  15. Hey All! I'm new to this whole process. I'm just wondering how long some of you had to wait to have your surgery? I know it can take a while.
