  1. You have got this !! I am 2 weeks out and the scale has hardly moved. I went to see the doctor today and he told me NO MORE SCALE!! We are looking at BMI from now on and he wants me to get weighed only once a month at his office. This will be a struggle but from everything I have read on this forum, it will be for the best. Our bodies are adjusting and it take time. I don't need my mind working against me. We just have to follow the rules and the rest will come. Keep up the good work.
  2. I am hoping you have contacted your doctor. This being 2.5 years out from your sleeve would indicate it has nothing to do with the sleeve and it's probably a colon issue. Please call your doctor. Wishing you the best.
  3. Hi - could you share the baby turkey meatloaf recipe or is it baby food ? Same with the turkey meatballs ? ready made ? looking for ideas.
  4. Agree with everyone - I was told in very clear terms - no carbonation (needing to give up my addiction to diet coke), beer, champagne, ect and no ibuprofen - ever! I accepted the terms
  5. Yes very true, we are def healing. How did u do over the weekend? I seem to be doing great. Ready for the next stage of foods tho... Getting tired of the broth, jello, juices, & Popsicles lol.... I haven't really used my pain meds in the last day & a half. Feeling a lot better now Hi - sorry I didn't see this earlier. I am doing really well. I am taking soups, putting them in the blender and even adding some Parmesan cheese. It's very creamy almost like a puree'. It's 6 TB at a serving but no issues. I can drink a bottle of water like a normal person. Sips but normal sips and it takes about 30 - 45 minutes to have a drink. I am going to try mashed potatoes today How are you doing?
  6. Hi, I do not like the unjury either. I really like the ready made premier Protein and up until today I had to mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with 2% milk. It's just like a good choc. shake. It gave me plenty of protein. Everyday I would try just one sip to see if I could handle the "heaviness' of it and I finally can!! No more mixing. Good luck - it does get better. I am 10 days post-op and doing well.
  7. Great post !! I couldn't have said it any better. I am only 10 days post op and getting obsessed with the scale and people that know about the surgery asking how much I have lost. Well this morning, my practically brand new scale ......stopped working. I am taking this as a sign - to get off the scale and move forward. As you so well said, we took a brave choice for our health and that is what we need to stay focused on. Thanks for sharing
  8. You look super !! Congratulations !!
  9. Hi, Can you tell me when it started to come off ? I am 8 days post- op and the weight is coming off very slowly - when did the BAM -start ???? LOL So looking forward it.
  10. Thanks - I will and CONGRATULATIONS on making your goal! How does it feel? Have you had to work hard? I love walking and I am already back out there. Again = congratulations and good for you!
  11. Thank you - it's just a little scary
  12. Oh no. Go back to the place in your head - where you would have been so happy to have that much weight off. You are heading towards healthy. Your body is not carrying around an extra 38 lbs.!! Go buy a pretty spring out fit and enjoy the weight loss. Maybe to feel better - stay on the liquid/pureed food, remember the basics to eat slowly ? I would call the surgeon and ask to make an appointment to have those stitches clipped because I am sure it's bothering you and he should fix that. Maybe through reading thru posts you will have ideas of what you could suggest he could try with you. Remember Protein should help give you energy. You can do this!!
  13. Just called mydoctors office and said I am missing my regular medications: anti-depressant, tramadol, ect - all for arthritis and they said "yes, you can take you pills again" it will be fine. Anyone else swallowing pills - I am a little scared. Only 8 days post-op
  14. Thank you!! Only 8 days post op but will be looking forward!
  15. All replies I agree with - but are you getting all the protein in ?
  16. You can do it. I agree with what people have said. It's a low cal diet to help shrink the liver. I actually met a operating room assistant in my group and she said that when people stick to the low cal - it makes it easier to move the liver out of the way but they do they surgery, no matter what - once they are in there. I am 7 days post op and you really don't care about food now - just trying to get my Protein and fluids in. Give it all you got. You can do it. Just remember to read over all the reasons you first listed when you started this journery. Keep your eye on the goal.
  17. Thank you !! I am going to look forward to some soup. I was afraid it would hurt me. I will try small sips but it would be great just to have a tasty soup/strained that is
  18. 7 days post op , doing well but getting hungry and sick of the Protein drinks (diluted with milk) Jello, lowfat yogurt. Could I blend the crap out of italian wedding Soup , strain, and then sip sowly ? Anything ? can't find any lowfat creamy Soups ---- ideas ? I don't like cream of celery. Thanks
  19. Yes - I am up with you !! Tired several positions and just keep having spasms. Finally got out of bed. If I sit in the recliner I am fine. But also, don't seem to be as tired. Guess I really didn't do a lot today but this feels like insomina. Hope it passes soon. My sleeve was 4/8.
  20. Hi, I had my sleeve last Tuesday and between the pre-op diet (which I followed to a T) and now I have only 3 lbs lost. They said to expect that as the body takes time to adjust. My doctor told me that if I was ever in a situation where I thought I might starve to death - that I never would because my body just conserves everything, if it feels something is wrong. He said I should concentrate on BMI # from now on and not the scale. I don't think I can do that Good luck
  21. My doc told me to watch for left shoulder pain, in the back. He said it's the most common place to have pain if there is a leak. The fever could be an infection or your body just fighting something. Glad you have a call in.
  22. How wonderful!! Looking forward to being past this post-op and being even a month out ,feeling better and seeing the scale move !!!
  23. I think that if the pain is that bad you should be calling your surgeon. It's always best to check with your doctor - better to be safe.
  24. Good for you !! I am overall doing pretty well too and like you say, everything I am sipping, is thin and room temp. I think what we learn is that we are all so different but have a common factor Keep up the good work. Do you know when we start to see the scale move? I would really like that !!!
  25. Does yogurt count on your full liquids? yes, it says 2 TBSP, lowfat, plain or smooth. No seeds from added fruit. so vanilla or plain. It went down great. I tolerated 4 tbsp today , as a meal.
