    Saxenda

To Meow999 - just so you know it is very easy to regain weight with the sleeve. You have to stay away from carbs forever.... It is only a tool and if your mind isn't truly into the program, you will regain. Good luck

Cottage cheese thighs - need help!

Thanks LizBiz! I've just started squats so hopefully will have success like you!! Best to you!
  3. Are you ok with drinking water? If you are taking small sips and are still having pain, it will probably be best to contact your doctor. You shouldn't be having intense pain. Are you afraid you will damage your sleeve and fear eating? As long as you follow your doctor's diet you should be okay. You are probably still swollen and bloated...it takes about 2 weeks. Just be sure to stay hydrated. I lived on jello and sf Popsicles. Good luck
  4. VSG 6/24/14 , slow weight loss but okay with that. What isn't ok are my thighs! I have huge thighs and chubby knees. I have carried most of my weight below the waist. Looking for suggestions on best exercises, etc. for my thighs! Has anyone done lipo or laser???
  5. Don't keep carbs around you. Grab protein.- cheese sticks, turkey pepperoni, nuts. You can do it!
  6. Remarkable journey - thank you for sharing! Congratulations and best wishes on your new journey to being a pharmacist. You will succeed.
  7. I was sleeved 6/24/14 and 8 weeks post op. I'm 63 and have been feeling down since the scale has hardly moved the past weeks. I'm down 28 pounds and just can't figure out why not losing. I knew it would slow down but expected at least 2# a week. I have a hard time getting more than 700 calories and they keep telling me I need to up the calories. I get 60-70 protein and 48-52 oz of water. Now walking 10,000+ steps a day. For those who are planning surgery, go for it. It was the easiest and I had sleeve, hiatal hernia and gallbladder! I think I recouped better than many of the younger ones. I'm over BP and insulin. Only take metformin and hope to be off soon. Happy with the initial 28 but anxious to get it moving again!
  8. Try Isopure - it is best mixed with a little Crystal Lite. 40 grams protein in 20 ounces. My favorite is Grape Frost. Are you able to have protein shakes?

    Going back to work

Hi Alyce and congrats on your upcoming surgery! I was sleeved 6/24/14 and have never felt better. I was able to work from home after 1 week with the agreement that I needed to walk and if needed, rest. I must admit that some things I did that first week were a little foggy and I wasn't quite up to speed. It also was a holiday week so I only worked 3 days. I went back to the office after 2 weeks and was much better. If possible, I would suggest 2 weeks but if not be sure to walk and drink your fluids as much as possible. Best to you.

    Pre Op Liquid Diet Ideas...

Definitely get PB2 which is powdered peanut butter. It is delicious with chocolate and vanilla! I only used a little not 2T. Also you can get different favors in the seasoning section like banana, coconut, almond. Just add a pinch until you whip it and then you can add more as needed. You can also add Crystal Lite to vanilla. I loved adding orange - it was like having a creamsicle! How long is your preop? Best to you for surgery and a speedy recovery.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I was sleeved 6/24/14 and down 23 pounds. Had to hide the scale this week it was making me depressed. Weight loss has stalled. Ihad no problems with surgery or with any phases. Getting ready to start soft foods. My problem is getting in enough calories. I struggle to hit 500 calories. With only 1/4 - 1/2 cup food that isn't many calories no matter what you eat. I do 1 shake and about 48 oz of water.

    Struggling

I'm struggling! Surgery June 24 and I've lost 20 pounds total! I'm following my doctor's plan exactly. Getting in 48-54 ounces of fluid and 60 protein. Walking over 7000 steps each day. So frustrating. I think I might be in starvation mode and my metabolism is shut down. If no loss tomorrow calling center. Hang in there
  13. You're going to do great with your positive attitude! I was sleeved June 24 and have felt better than I have in years. Already off blood pressure meds and 2 diabetes meds. Hope to be off all by 6 week checkup!
  14. I'm 3 weeks out and had one bout of nausea right out of recovery, they put something in my IV and never had another problem. I've felt fantastic! My doctor/hospital did put a nausea patch behind ear before surgery-I'm not sure if that is standard procedure or an extra step they take. It helped me. Good luck!
  15. So glad you went to ER and hope you're on the road to recovery.
