  1. Hi again, I had surgery February 19th I recently moved to Bakersfield and live in the SW part of Bakersfield. Do you have have a support group? Maybe we can have a Bariatic Pal Support group? How are you doing? Do you want to meet in person?
  2. I would love to see a Bakersfield Chapter, so many of us have questions and experience with this surgery, it would be nice to meet
  3. I think it is best not to worry about the scale, just make sure you have enough protien and you drink the water. Everything else will fall into place with time. Not everyone looses at the same rate. as long as you continue to lose over a three week time peroid you are doing very well. Weight loss does not happen over night, even if you had surgery. You have to keep low carbs, more protine, and water, exersize too! Keep the faith!!
  4. You go!!! Congradulations............. I to have just made it to under 200 pounds.
  5. Perhaps you need more water? How are your clothes fitting? Have you checked back with your doctor? There maybe a nother isissue
  6. Sleeved February 19, 2014 I went straight to small amounts or regular food after a week or so. I eat super small portions. I usually still have two 30 grams of protien drinks a day and then a regular dinner with my family in small amounts cut up. So far, I have never had any issues, and my doctors says I am doing great. Personally, my down fall is exersize, I still don;t do much, but seem to have been losing about 1 to 2 pounds a week How is everyone else doing now?
  7. It is a personal session for sure. I had a hernia surgery at the same time. So when it came to work. I said I had hiatal hernia surgery. I told my brother but not my Mom as I thought she would not understand and worry. She is in her 80 s and lives in another city. My surgery went well no issues
  8. I am 57 3 months out and have lost about 45 pounds including pre op. or from January 5 th this year. I have yet to start exercising No issues at all with food. Everyday my priority is to get in protein and water.
  9. Is anyone else losing hair? How long does it last?
  10. I weigh at least once every three days, I just want to see that I am loslosing.
  11. Spicy food I crave. If I eat a small amount, no problem. If I eat to much , It is the back end that has a problem
  12. It has been 2 months since surgery over all I am down 44 pounds, including pre op diet. Food is not problem I can eat everything. However, it has taken me this long to have mind over food. I was seaving myself a plate like before ( never finished) and buying food like I use to. I also went though a couple of weeks were I thought I wanted to eat all my own favorite foods binging. Now I feel even keel. More balanced with my choices. Did anyone else have anything simalar?
  13. I try not to weight everyday, after 7 weeks, I am going to do it weekly. I don't want to be disappointed
  14. When do you get more energy? I am 7 weeks post op. I feel the same. People ask me how I feel, like I should feel amazing and I do not. I have lost over 40 pounds, and never had any issues, no sickness or throwing up ect... But, I think I should more energy then when I did 40 pounds ago- How have you all been energy wise?

  19. I went to a support group meeting this week. It was my first one. They gave out a FITbook. a twelve week game plan for weight loss. it is tracking your progress. I think it might be beneficial. I have had good luck since my sleeve, I have not been sick or thrown up. I heard some really bad issue people have had since surgery. I hope I don't gain any weight since, I don't seem to be afraid of eating. What makes a good support group?
  20. I too am interested in the symtoms of this. Did you all take some gallbladder medication everyday after surgery??
  21. I thought I was the only one with this issue. I was sleeved in February 2014, have moved to a new area where I do not know anyone. It has been a difficult adjustment, and all I want to do is eat. I just started walking several times a week, I am hoping that helps.......
  22. Congrats!!! How many sizes are you done in clothes. that should put a smile on your face.
  23. I get mine protien drinks from costco too!, they have all been fine. I just descovered the strawberry flavor..so yummy.
  24. Hi I had my surgery in February too!! I just got under the 200 pound mark!!. I can eat anything, that may be a problem for me later. As another pal posted, food does not taste the same. I do not do sweets or carbs, but have never had a issue with them. I never vomitited or got sick. I moved though the diet pretty fast, but feel fine. I go in a weeek for my first doctors visit since surgery. I hope he thinks I have been doing good. Good luck you all.
  25. I was windering from you all what you do regarding your clothes. When you lose so much weight, you can not possibilbly buy new clothess for each size. I went shopping today and got 4 tops that fit. I felt frumpy in my old clothes. But will I grow quickly out of these?
