CheleLynn45 got a reaction from Mimi039 in My progress at almost 9 months out.......pic!
I will be 9 months out on the 27th of this month and was going thru my phone this morning and realized I had quite a few selfies on there. LOL
So I put some together so I could really see my progress. I think documenting your journey is so important for many reasons. Number one is to help keep you motiviated when that nasty scale may not be moving as fast as you would like.
Right now I have gone from a tight 30/32 to a 14/16 in bottoms, a tight 30/32 to a L/XL in tops. I really can't believe it sometimes. I am so close to Onederland I can taste it. I feel so good and my health is top notch now. All the problems I had before surgery are now gone or in the completely normal range. No more thyroid medicine, no more borderline diabetic, no more high pressure in my eyes, no more high cholesterol, no more Vitamin D deficiency, and I am all healed from my ventral hernia surgery I had on June 5th!! I am back to the gym and feeling great!!
I hope this post can help someone just starting out, or struggling. I know that when I was fairly new it was posts like this that really helped!!

CheleLynn45 got a reaction from EggplantMassacre in I hit my 100lbs lost today! WOO HOO!
I got on the scale this morning and was so happy!! I am down 100lbs!! I had hoped to hit 100lbs lost by my 6 month check up which was April 27th, but even though I didn't meet the goal I set for myself I am still very happy with how far I have come!!
I have 39lbs to go to get to my first goal of 175lbs. I am hoping to do this by my 1 year surgiversary!!
Tomorrow I am having surgery to remove my ventral hernia, this is one of the reasons I had the sleeve surgery to begin with. I am excited and nervous. I'm hoping my recovery from this goes as well as my recovery from my sleeve surgery. My bariatric surgeon is doing the surgery for me.
Thanks to everyone on this site, your posts and words of encouragement has really helped me stay motivated and know I can succeed.
I am finally able to wear my 100lb lost shoes I bought to reward myself. They are a really cute pair of wedges from Clarks, they were $107, but they are so cute and comfy. I normally wouldn't spend that much on shoes but for this I thought it was okay. I actually bought them a few months ago and my husband and daughter have been holding them hostage will I hit 100lbs. So today we are heading out to lunch/dinner and I am wearing them!!

CheleLynn45 got a reaction from Rogofulm in Accepting yourself loose skin and all!
I was also worried about excess skin in the beginning. But like @@Babbs stated above, it's the obesity related issues that will get to you before the loose skin does.
I am down almost 80lbs and I have to say I am quite surprised at how my skin is doing. I am starting to see some loose skin but I thought it would be way worse with this amount of weight loss. Now we will have to wait and see how it does after the next 60lbs come off.
The last time I lost 80+ pounds in a year and half I had no sagging skin whatsoever. But I was also 14 years younger and lost it slower.
All I know is for right now today.......I am ESTACTIC with my progress and LOVE how I am doing. I feel GREAT and am going to try, (that's all we can do) to not focus on what some might consider my flaws. I am amazed at what my body is able to do and handle now. Some days I actually say WOW out loud, my daughter thinks it funny how I do that. LOL
I know reason #1 that I had this weight loss surgery was to get my butt healthy before I got to out of control, the way I look and feel would be #2 & #3. I was preaching to my dad that he had to start controlling what he had control over and realized I had to do the same, so I did!!

Had a stall last week around 305, which was super frustrating since I was so close to the 200s. It played around a little at 300 for a while, even dropped to 299 once (which I didn't count since it was flucuating), but the last three days, I've been consistently below 300, so I'm making the announcement...I'm in Twohundredtown! Sorry, the name's not as cool as Onederland.
I haven't been in the 200s since the end of my senior year of high school in 2010, so it's really exciting for me!

Absolutely! But YOUR truths do not apply to everyone. My experience is completely different than yours and I'd hate for anyone to think your behaviors/results/frustrations are typical.
I maintain easily on 1600-1800 calories a day. I eat mindfully, but I can have a daily indulgence without gain. I can workout without gaining. I can get on the scale daily and not fret about fluctuations. I've maintained for well over a year and belong to a FB group of about 40 "vets", most of whom have been sleeved longer than me, who have had similar experiences.
I've been reading your posts for years and have watched your struggles. I do not believe your journey is typical. Not to say you are wrong, but my posts are meant for the common reader as well as who I might be quoting.

I sit here in tears thinking about how far I have come... how my life has changed for the better... how I have struggled emotionally to adjust... how I have had to learn to love me (good, bad and ugly)... how hard I have worked and continue to work in the gym 5 days a week... how good I feel... how good I look... I saved my life and I am so glad for the second chance. I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I smiled and cried.

I dislike immensely being uncomfortable or in pain so that was enough for me to stick to my portions. Even today at 7 months out I still am very conscious of my portions. It's a new way of life so I have to be.
When we go out I either share a meal with my hubby or daughter, or if I order my own meal I make sure it is something that will reheat well so I can eat the leftovers the next couple days.
Like others have said I don't like to waste food, but I would rather it out than make myself sick trying to finish it.
    Good luck with your journey!!

CheleLynn45 got a reaction from shugarhey in Had an AWESOME 6 month check up yesterday.......(pic) :)
I just had to share about my appointment yesterday!! Everything was good, good and good!! Doc was happy with my progress, and all my blood work came back great!!
When they told me that my blood work showed NO signs at all of diabetes or being pre diabetic I started to cry. It came out of nowhere, but all I could think is I guess that worrying about getting diabetes bothered me so much more than I thought. My grandpa on my dad's side and my dad both got late on set diabetes so with my weight I just assumed I would get it at some point. It was such a relief to hear that now I will not.
We also set up a date to have my ventral hernia removed from my lower right abdomen and I am so happy to be getting rid of that. Herman (as we refer to him in our house) needs to go, he was the reason I started this WLS journey and now with my weight loss so far he shows and is paining me more then ever. Good Riddance Herman!!
Now onto my next goal of reaching 175lbs. Doc feels I should have no problem achieving this and so do I!!
I attached a pic of me taken at my docs pre op appointment and one my hubby took me of my yesterday!!
