  1. Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop in and post a progress update. I am three weeks and two days out and down 35 pounds/ 2 sizes. I am gradually getting back in the routine of foods and was wondering what some of you guys were eating to get the protein in. I do my best with the shakes still, but it is quite hard for me to take in that much liquid at times...constantly sipping water though. I have given the thought to maybe getting some unjury powder. Just want to be sure I'm getting the necessary protein
  2. The heavens have opened, angels have sang...this drain is out and I am on the red eye home to Georgia tonight! I feel so much better today! I am a happy, happy girl! This was an amazing experience!!! I will continue to post my progress and inquiries
  3. So I'm back at the hotel I am sore on the side where the drain is and already anxious to get it out. I hope in the next couple of days I feel much better. Not really in pain, but pretty sore. I'm soooo looking forward to having the opportunity to compare before an after pics! You guys all look amazing!!!!!
  4. You look amazing back2barb!!!! I hope for the same results preop diet stunk at first but I think I'm used to it now. At least surgery is tomorrow so that gives me something to look forward to! I will keep you guys updated!
  5. Hey everyone!!! I'm here in TJ and other than a little hotel confusion, (Marriott was booked, staying at the Lucerna) everything has gone very smooth...hotel is nice and accommodating. I'm scheduled to meet in the lobby tomorrow morning at 6:10! I'm so nervous. I'm just praying to have no complications and a relatively easy recovery!!!
  6. T-minus exactly one week until surgery This Pre-Op Diet is the pits for sure, but I just met the goal this morning...hopefully I can shed a couple more between now and next week too! Can anyone give me suggestions on post op diet? What you eat to get all of your necessary protein? I know it's liquids for a while, but if someone could enlighten me a little more that would be great!
  7. Day one of pre-op diet...need I say more? Ugh I don't know how I will do this! I don't want to pig out or anything, but I'm genuinely hungry lol
  8. Oh good! That makes me feel so much better about the meds Thank you so much for sending the list! Ahhhh the 10th can't come fast enough! My mom is totally stalking your threads right now, because I told her that I found a buddy that had her experience so well documented She's coming with me and is super excited!
  9. Ellie you saying that makes me so happy because of how supportive all the "OCC vets" were of me and my nervousness preop. I just knew I had lost my mind when I sent them my deposit and wondered what the hell I was thinking going to Mexico for surgery. I started having panic attacks right after and 100% this site, these women, particularly this thread has been amazing for me and snapped me out of it and from there it was nothing but positivity until the doctor was putting me under on the table. I'm happy for you and know you will soon be losing weight so fast you won't believe it! It will be life-changing for you and your family. B2B-you have taken the words and thoughts right out of my head and mouth. I'm having a hard time conceiving that it may be possible for me to lose a substantial amount of weight, even like 50lbs. It's just crazy to me that a medical procedure can turn your life around that much. My plane tickets are booked, and I'm sooooo excited I know you were super prepared for your surgery, so I was wondering if you may have some pointers on what I will need to pack? At the end of this week I will be starting my preop diet...nervous about it but I'm determined! Also, what kind of medicines did they send home or give after. Pain medications tend to be very rough on my tummy, so I'm concerned about that with just having had surgery to create a new stomach...I just don't want them to make me sick, and in the past they have and I was unable to take them. However, if my recovery goes as good as everyone says, then I will hardly have any pain
