  1. I had a stall week 3 to week 5 so I upped my calories from 600 to 800 and then I started dropping weight again. I am still finding 800 calories difficult to get in every day. I appreciate the advice I will definitely turn to this forum on a daily basis and look up some blogs and youtube videos.
  2. Hi my name is Jaccie and I had my surgery on April 4, 2014. I am 61 lbs down with a whole lot more still to lose. I am a stay at home mother with a teen and a toddler. I was self pay and before my surgery my doctor and staff were great, then after the money exchanged hands I never hear from them besides my first couple of follow up appointments. They move patients like cattle in there. You are in and out with-in 15 to 20 min. I have ZERO guidance and am flying blind here. The paperwork they sent me home with was for the lap-band since they just started doing sleeve surgery 6 months ago. I haven't been on this forum for sometime now and have been trying to do this on my own. I am doing great diet wise but how many calories am I supposed to be consuming a day? I realize it is different from surgeon to surgeon. Any advice would be helpful.
  3. I just went through a stall and I know how it basically mind F's you. I didn't lose anything week 3 and most of week 4. I kicked up my calories from 800 to 1000 and also kicked up my exercise to 30 min of walking and an hour of swimming. I woke up yesterday and dropped 3 lbs today another pound. I pray that week 5 I drop a couple more pounds. My surgeon said that my weight loss would slow down to 8 to 10 lbs a month. My advice is to only weigh yourself once a week and just keep chugging along. This wont be our last stall!
  4. Breakfast I usually have a Protein shake or a scrambled egg. lunch my fav is one hard boiled egg, avocado, light tuna, and a spoonful of mayo. I throw it all in my nutribullet for a few seconds and then you have an amazing lunch high in protein. I have a ton of recipes on my Pinterest page. http://www.pinterest.com/frenchiew/
  5. starting weight 345 now 301. I am so happy with my sleeve and wished I would have done it sooner. I still have a lot of work to do!
  6. I will be 4 weeks post up this Thursday and I have lost 39lbs all together.
  7. I am going on 4 weeks out and yesterday I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, lunch 2 thin slices of Boars Head blazing buffalo chicken deli meat and 4oz of 2% cottage cheese. dinner I had 4oz of steamed cabbage and snack I had 1 Greek non fat yougurt. I am getting in my protein and still coming in under my allowed 700 calories a day. I have been in a stall for about a week and the doctor had me go from 500 to 700 calories a day. I feel like I am eating so much more than the average sleever. Should I cut back? What does your daily menu look like?
  8. I sleep on my left side so the first two weeks sucked and my back was killing me. I only took my liquid pain meds at night because of how much my back started hurting. Week 3, I was able to sleep every which way. I woke up on my stomach this morning and felt fine.
  9. I also am experiencing a stall. Last week was week 3 for me and my scale did not move. I am 2 days into week 4 an have gained a pound. How I couldn't tell you since I am staying at a 700 calorie diet and I walk 30 min 2x's a day. I am heartbroken and my husband is not very understanding at this moment since he just shelled out $17,000 for me to have this surgery and here I am not losing weight. There are so may threads on here about the dreaded 3 week stall I really hope it doesn't last any longer.
  10. I am also experiencing a stall. I lost nothing week 3 and today is my first day into week 4 and I am praying that I drop a few pounds. I have a protein shake for breakfast, a few oz of tomato soup for lunch, a few bites of light Greek yogurt for a snack, and a protein shake for dinner. I also walk 30 min in the morning and just started walking 30min at night.
  11. Wal-Mart sells isopure unflavored protein powder online. Just so you know unflavored just means not vanilla or chocolate it still has a taste to it. My suggestion is to only mix it with soups or smoothies.

  15. I guess I shouldn't be to upset, I have lost 39 lbs since starting my pre-op diet until now. It is just frustrating I want out of the 300's so bad! My surgeon said my weight loss would slow down to 8 to 10 lbs per month instead of 7lbs a week like it has been. I am down a shirt and pant size so that a plus. I will just keep doing what I am doing and hope my body starts working with me!
  16. I am 4 days into week 3 post-op and my scale has not moved. I can't believe this is really happening. I am stuck looking at the same number on my scale since last Thursday 301. I have been walking 20 minutes a day, I chase around a toddler all day and I am on full liquids. Breakfast I have a protein shake, then water, water, some more water, then 6 bites of soup at lunch, water, water, water, a few bites of yogurt for a snack, then a protein shake for dinner. Am I doing something wrong?
  17. I went to GNC and bought ISOPURE. It is a clear drink with 40 grams of protein. They have really good flavors.
  18. My surgery was on 4.4.2014 and I cooked for my family. I am on full liquids so I had a chocolate protein shake with a quarter of a banana.
  19. You guys who are not liking your Protein shakes should really checkout pinterest. There are so many awesome recipes! I just made Cinnamon Bun CLICK Latte Protein shake. 1 cup Soy Milk (any milk will do) 2 scoops CLICK vanilla Latte Espresso Protein powder 2 Tablespoons Torani sugar free Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup a few ice cubes. 20. Thank you Odesa and AJ Barefield ! You really have to retrain yourself how to eat after getting your franken-sleeve. It is a little rocky at first but I will get the hang of it. Thanks again!
  21. I love this websitehttp://www.mybariatricpantry.com/Bariatric_Protein_Samples_s/35.htm . You can buy most brands samples of every flavor for like $20. See what you like before you buy a giant bag of something. I am loving the Matrix mint cookie it's da bomb!
  22. My surgeon had me on Clear liquids for my first 2 weeks post-op. He said it would give my new little tummy more time to heal. So when I was cleared yesterday to start having soups(blended), Protein shakes, and yogurt I was over joyed. I went to Panera Bread and bought broccoli and cheese Soup and chicken noodle. I was only able to eat 4 bites and I was so full. Today I am not even hungry and I don't want to eat. Have any of you gone through this? Do I just stick to my Water and protein and only eat if I feel like it or try to make myself eat a few times a day?
  23. My surgeon said absolutely no carbonation ever!
  24. I wasn't allowed protein shakes the first week only clear liquids and everything counted even jello.
  25. I was able to take a shower 2 days after surgery. I used dial soap and soaped up a wash cloth and squeezed it over my belly then rinsed and patted dry with a clean towel. The Water does not hurt but I also didn't just stand there with the water hitting my incisions directly for long. You will be given care instructions before you leave the hospital.
