post op liquid diet

Hello,

My surgery is next week. I'll be on liquids for a couple weeks afterwards. Can I also count these as my 64oz of fluids needed per day (ie broth, protein shakes, etc)?

I wasn't allowed protein shakes the first week only clear liquids and everything counted even jello.

  • Seems like thats how it should be.

My doc said no. Not sure why not but they know best.

My peeps allowed anything 'clear',to be counted toward the water intake. Including clear protein drinks.
