    For my 20 something ladies!

  2. I'm backkkkkkk!!!

    Fast forward to post-op.....

So here I am, laid up until surgery due to complications my weight has caused on my body.... and all I can think about is what will come easier post-surgery? How much will this surgery REALLY help me? I can't wait for the extra pounds to be less taxing on my health and my body and infringing on my life. So I ask you fellow WLS friends - what are you looking forward to most? What is your surgery going to do for you?
  4. Almost down a total of 30 lbs since July.... Gotta keep it off until I can get the help I need from the VSG!

I do enjoy the cappuccino .... fat free milk and ice in a blender - it's a WLS patient's dream when you aren't drinking frappuccinos anymore lol

    Any sleevers in Northern NJ?

@@Newme4113 The numbers at the end just stood out so much to me - that's my daughter's birth date :-) I've been seeing him since August - had a date but had to cancel due to knee dislocation. Hoping for an end of January date once I'm done with physical therapy. All my tests are done and I was completely cleared and approved for the surgery. His office is beyond disorganized and they always seem to lose messages and faxes and never remember if it's your first time there to see him or if you've been there 10 times before. I've shown up to appts 30 minutes early to still get to see him an hour and a half late. It's probably the only majorly frustrating part of this process was that entire office set up.

@@Newme4113 Hi! how are you liking him so far? (btw I was curious about the origin or your user name!)
  9. Just heard from my surgeon on a Sunday night? Told me once I start PT and I'm 4 weeks in and my ortho clears me - we can set the date! Gotta get my momentum and positivity back!

  10. Great day spent with the family - regained some faith in this whole process - time to work on making this happen in the new year!!

  11. And my surgery was cancelled. So devastated....

    1. Shell88

      Shell88

He won't do the surgery on me until my physical therapy for my knee is complete and my ortho clears me. This also means most of the tests will have to be redone since it will be 2+ months from now. He said by then, it will be late January/February and he will be able to tell me if he has any dates available then. :-(

So sorry to hear this ! Keep your chin up though, sometimes you have to have things postponed for a reason. " D'ont be afraid to give up the good and go for the great ." The late Steve Prefontaine Maybe this was your "good ", and the "great" is still to come ! Good luck !!

  12. Surgeon's office lost my clearance form, didn't call my ortho from 3 days ago, and keeps losing my information.... oh boy.

  13. Good luck!!!! This is so exciting! Long awaited, but well worth the journey!
  14. I am thankful for: !. My baby girl - I could not have asked for anything more in a child! She's just so wonderful. 2. My parents - have always been there for me through thick and thin 3. My brother - my best friend for life 4. My sister - she's always been the greatest confidante - even being 15 years younger :-) 5. 2nd chances - Life can't be all about just living or making it through - everything will work out eventually!
  15. Shell88

    Monday's POSITIVE Post!

I am thankful for my baby girl. I was told by doctors when I was younger that my weight and the PCOS would make it difficult or close to impossible to have kids - she is my miracle. Though unexpected, she is the sunshine on my darkest days. Looks like me, babbles like me (doesn't really talk yet lol), and has my personality. She is me through and through and the only person in the world I can never get upset with and will always make me smile. She is my angel, my best friend, my beauty. Nothing better than hearing those two syllable "Mommy"s :-) I am also incredibly thankful for my parents who, no matter how insane I have driven them or find ways of disappointing, they have always supported and loved me and been my biggest help with my daughter and life itself. They want to see me the best I can be, and feel this surgery is going to do exactly that!
  16. @@jenmc2404 Yeah I walked right out of GNC for that reason alone!
  17. Meeting with surgeon didn't go too well. He needs clearance from my ortho as to whether I can have the surgery on the 11th or it will be postponed until February 28th. Just not feeling it today :-(

    1. jenmc2404

      jenmc2404

That stinks! When do you meet with ortho? I agree with miss mac I would think they would be happy you were getting surgery. Fingers crossed and best wishes coming your way that everything works out!

      Shell88

I met with her yesterday before the surgeon appointment. She did give the thumbs up and only told me to pass by my surgeon any restrictions he may have with physical therapy. My surgeon just went on a whole tangent about lawsuits and how I'm not taking care of my body.... my knee dislocation was obviously done on purpose to sabotage his career lol

  18. Hiya! I have my final appointment pre-surgery tomorrow and I'm trying to make sure I have all my questions written down so I don't forget to ask him. Anyone have anything they can possibly think of that I should ask - just want to make sure I don't leave anything out that I may not be thinking of at this moment :-)

    Fast forward to post-op.....

This morning i decided another is that i want to get out of the shower and have the towel fully fit around my body...
  20. @@jenmc2404 I'm on clear liquids, fat free vanilla yogurt and fat free milk for 14 days.. i start Friday! I like the Nectar fuzzy navel and vanilla bean torte... i used Nashuanutrition.com and got a bunch of the individual sample packets of all different brands and flavors of powder. I highly suggest you try that because there are certain ones i wasn't a fan of and you don't want to get stuck with a 2lb tub of gross lol
  21. Going to see the hot doctor about my knee, then picking up my sleep apnea machine, and finally my last surgeon appt pre-surgery!

good luck shell. I cant uses cpap or any of them as im a solid mouth breather and have impaired sinuses so I cant breathe well enough through my nose, and the mouth only mask they have doesn't work if you have dentures. which I have an upper. oh well. lol isn't it great that weight loss can reduce sleep apnea by 87%

    2. Shell88

      Shell88

I am very excited by this percentage! They gave me the one with nose and mouth, but I still have the nose one they gave me after my test. I think I like that one more.

  22. @@jenmc2404 Friday I start my pre-op diet.... went food shopping Saturday night and am all stocked for the next two weeks of liquids! Also trying to find all of my hospital stuff and recovery items beforehand. What about you? are you on the 2 weeks diet or less?
