  1. I got pregnant after I lost about 25lbs with my band and actually kept mine filled through the whole pregnancy. I was a different case. Igained 7lbs for a almost 8 lb pound kid. Totally healthly,no complications, nothing. My son is over 2 years old now and I have lost a total of 113lbs. My band baby is huge though. He is 3'4" and a football player waiting to happen. Crystal
  2. sorry to hear that. I too join the others in saying that I had no complications at all.. It is rare, wishes for speedy recovery to your wife
  3. Just thought I would say hello to everyone and say at 5 and half months I am doing great. I did not have my band unfilled (4 cc's) and am doing awesome. It does add a little learning curve the later I get into pregnancy but no nutritional issues, in fact I am healthier than others without a band because of our nutritional regime that we follow after being banded. I am still lossing weight only a pound or two but baby is large (long and estimated at over 2lbs already), healthy and being monitored. I was banded June 26 at 240lbs and am 212lbs now with baby and all. Thankfully, I still had my bigger clothers so I have not had to by maternity clothes. It is great. I don't kno what I would have done without Dr. Neal's office (Olympia Washington) and my banding. Happy holidays all and stay strong and successful in 2008. Crystal:whoo:
  4. I am also pregnant. 9 weeks. I was banded 6/26/07 at 240 and am 218 and still shrinking. :0). Both Ob and my Lap-Band doc are in communication. It is safe for me to continue to lose weight. You are not eating for two... Even better though, the shakes I drink have the most nutritional value in just one shake than I could need for the day plus the healthy stuff I take in otherwise. This is my second pregnancy and my first one, I did not really gain any weight with, in fact did not even really show until 6.5 months. My weight that I earned before my lap-band was from cancer treatment a steroids over time. So I am I am not afraid of the pregnancy with the band in fact excited. I did not have it drained so it still has about 2.4 or 3cc in it.. and doing great... Congrats to all of the other trying and have conceived... yeah!!:whoo:
  5. Marilyn, Thank you also. My determination is masked but some hidden need that I have not identified except for the need to make a life for my family but my lapband- I wish I could say it was totally all me and for the most part it is but I don't want to have my significant other seeing me like this and I don't want to be the fat mom at the school picnics with my daughter. They both love me regardlessly but I know my daughter will be a teenager someday and they tend to be embarassed of having parents enough without me being ashamed of how I look on top of that. I forgot to mention my doctor was Dr. William Neal out of Lacey, Washington and his most awesome office of pure support...:whoo:
  6. Hello all, My name is Crystal Miller and I was banded June 26, 2007 and have lost 13 lbs. I just went for my second fill today and am having a little bit of adjusting compared to the first fill. I have a three year old daughter named Jade who started school Aug. 13. I am divorced time two. However, have survived a my ex-husband leaving me for a man, cancer and obesity. However, I am strong.... I am currently finishing my Doctorate in Healthcare Administration which will be my 7th degree. I am a Mensan. So, despite several hills I have several others things going for me that lessen the blow. I am proud of my scars and my lapband. Before surgery, I weighed 240lb at 5'5". I am currently 227. My goal is 135. However, every step to my goal is a goal unto itself. :ranger:
