chrissy10 got a reaction from 2muchfun in Aug 4th bander here
Like 2muchfun said, every doctor is different. So please follow your doctors requirements. I was told by my doctor to not drink during eating and try to go 30 minutes after eating without drinking. I am not going to lie it was hard to get use to. I use to drink a whole drink while eating before surgery. I am sure you will do great.

When you are jogging outside and see a small shadow and look around thinking someone is next to you. Then you realize it is you.
Also you have to move the seat forward in your car because your belly isn't against the wheel anymore.

I had one done before. Honestly I do not remember it. They gave me meds so I was out of it. You will be fine and it will be over before you know it. My throat was a little sore afterwards but nothing major. Good Luck!

I've lost 120 pounds and now weigh 118. My feet were 9w. Now they are a... 9. WTH? My daughter summed it up for me when she came over last time when she looked at my feet and said "Mom, you lost so much weight but you still have GIANT HOBBIT FEET!!!". Don't be jealous, girls, she'll ALL mine!! Lol
Thanks to her I can't help but think of my feet as Hobbit feet now... :-p

I went back in to get another barium X-ray to see if my band has returned to the 1 o'clock position. It has! Very happy. But they won't fill me back up for 2 more weeks. In these last 2 weeks being un filled, I gained 8 pounds. So much for my green zone happiness.

@@CarmenLeAn, I would ask the doctor. I know some days I feel tighter than others but then it goes away. For me I have noticed if I am stressed with something I feel tight as well, but can still eat.
@planningband07 please make sure you are following directions from the doctor. I was able to eat soft foods on week 3. My doctor stated carbs are a big no no. So just please be careful. I have not had bread or tortillas since before surgery.

I usually don't respond to stall questions because they annoy me. But I realize that there are times when people just don't understand the process so I'm going to respond to your seemingly sincere question. A stall is weeks, not days. You didn't get overweight overnight and you won't lose it that way either. The number of calories consumed is for your information so you know not to overeat. Your body is responding to a sudden drop of likely hundreds if not thousands of calories.
That means your body might be wanting to keep the weight on in case you are starving. The body only knows you are feeding it less so it is compensating. Don't go on the scale when you are in a stall. Look for the non scale victories. You will find many of them and they will help you during this frustrating time.
Just so you know, I had to lose around 50 lbs. to go down 1 size in my clothing. Then I started to drop sizes sometimes in a matter of weeks and not by losing lots of pounds. The body reshapes and gets smaller at times even when the scale doesn't move. Especially if you are exercising. Just follow the doctor's instructions, stay compliant, and you will find success.

Well....I started my pre-op diet today and pre-op testing is tomorrow! I can't believe it is finally happening! I need to ask for prayers and words of encouragement to get me through this week of pre-op diet! I have nbeen doing really good on the 1500 calorie diet but I could eat a lot of different things! This week will be hard for me just because I get tired of the same thing quickly. But will be stuck eating that same things all week. I am whining!!! I can do this! I have come this far and have waited this long! I'm not gonna blow it now! God will give me the strength and motiviation I need to make it through!
Thanks for the pep talk! You guys are the best!!!

I weigh less than I did on my wedding day 26 years ago !!!!!
I had the added pleasure of watching my husband become a HEALTHYNEW ME...... He's lost 60 pounds and is at the gym six days a week too!!!!!!

Am scheduled for my last visit with my surgeon on Tuesday August 26th. I then only have to wait for insurance approval and schedule a date. I'm 5'3", and weighed 240 at my first visit. I have lost a few, gained a few throughout the 6 month process, so overall I'm only a few pounds from my starting weight. I'm very disappointed in myself for not being able to lose more before. I was talking with a good friend of mine about it, and she said "if you could do it alone, you would. You wouldn't need the surgery." She has a point I guess. I have to stop beating myself up about it. I think in my mind I'm afraid of the things I won't be able to eat after, so I've kind of eaten whatever I want. Not the best plan probably.
I am very excited to start a new chapter in my life. I'm 35 years old, single, never married, no kids. I'm an RN, and want to be a healthy role model to my pts. I have 2 nieces and a nephew that I want to be good role models for. I don't want to be that 'fat' aunt that can't play basketball, baseball, soccer, etc with them.
I will keep you posted. This is kind of difficult for me. My family and close friends know of my decision to have lap band surgery, but I haven't talked about it outside that circle. Typing it out to a group of strangers is very intimidating, but necessary for me!
