Hi there. I'm having surgery with Dr. Morales on the 19th too! I have pre-op testing tomorrow, the pre-op class on the 12th and surgery the 19! I'm so excited too! It's nice to meet others who are in the same place I am!

I painted a 3 foot high wooden Easter Egg as a hanging ornament for my front door. It turned out pretty good, if I say so myself. So, I posted a photo of it on face book with me holding it. Holy cow, I got so many comments but they weren't about the door ornament, they were all about me. I've lost 35 pounds but people were acting like I had lost 80 lbs or something. All the comments were so positive and I had no idea anyone would really even notice. I felt like a rock star with all of the comments. LOL I am loving this sleeve and I am so motivated to stay on this diet and do what I am supposed to do in order to lose the weight. I am so excited.

Please excuse my jacked up toenail polish and fat feet but I had to share! I'm officially down 85.1 pounds and for the first time since I was 17 (which was 13 years ago!!!) I am UNDER 300 pounds!!! I can't believe it!!!!!

My son is 8 and this is the first time in his life he can reach all the way around me! He was so excited ! So am I.

I am 2 weeks post-op gastric sleeve. With the one week pre- op and post op liquid diet I have lost 15 pounds. I can't tell a lot of difference in my clothes yet but my husband did my measurements the night before surgery and then last night It included wrists and ankles and calves etc. I lost 1/2 in in a lot of places- a total of 7 inches! The only place I didn't lose was my waist which was actually a little bigger which is why I guess my pants don't feel smaller. I saw the surgeon today and he said my incisions are healing fine but there is still a little inflammation. So I think it's probably just part of the recovery process and it will happen in time! I know it's so hard waiting though!! Congrats in your loss! That is so awesome!!!!

As a former professional dieter, I can understand where you are coming from. Pre-sleeve, I would diet, lose and eventually tire of the diet and lapse. I grew tired of traditional dieting, tired of frozen diet foods and tired of being hungry.
With the sleeve, a big motivator initially is fear of doing something that could cause serious injury to me. So I stuck to the program to the letter. This time, I felt and still feel that I finally have the restriction that keeps me from over indulging. The choices are mine, and I have to manage what I put into my body. It's just easier this time.
The surgery is one aspect. We need to be prepared to make the life long changes for success.
The sleeve won't fail me, only I can do that. I am ultimately responsible.
The biggest difference this time is I don't have the feeling that I am depriving myself constantly. I chose the sleeve because I wanted to be able to have some of my favorites and be satisfied after a few bites. Overall I want a healthier lifestyle, I was ready to embrace the changes I needed to make, and armed myself with a tool that would give me just a little help.

Good morning all my beautiful sleevers! So I had an amazing NSV Saturday I had to share. I was out on the town with friends in a very hip spot of Dallas. I was out with my gorgeous leggy model looking friend who's a showstopper. I felt good and happy I wasn't insecure but by no means thinking anyone would give me a second look. But I love to dance so I went out on the dance floor and was shaking my moneymaker just in my element. I open my eyes and all eyes are on ME. I was so into the music I hadn't noticed sooner. All of a sudden a tall lean young guy comes up and starts dancing with me. He grabs me by my waist and picks me up! (jaw drop....heart racing....no time to process) he just tossed me in the air effortlessly. I seriously felt like Baby from Dirty Dancing. Hahaha. I've never ever felt so small, sexy and exhilarated. Best night ever!!! I attached a pic of me and of my beautiful friends who were with me that night.
