  1. Well two weeks ago I had my psychiatric test done. Its a requirement for my doctor . I'm self pay, so of course I had to pay the 200 dollars upfront. The psychologist spent 10 mins. talking to me. Then I had 3 questionaires to fill out with over 500 questions. I like talking about myself and I certainly don't mind true false questions but.... This is costing alot and who do they (who ever they is)think they are to decide I'm mentally healthy enough to pay my money to have my body worked on. Of coarse I passed. Heres a tip, don't check that you hear voices or have disturbing thoughts. This might not be a good answer. In any case. the dr. said I could have a verbal report in a week, so I just had to find out what he said about me.I called several times to get the dr. to give promised report. Eventually,he spoke to me . He said my test suggested that I was assertive, believed in directness, had trust issues and would benefit from being included in decisions about my health. My goodness, that must have difficult to figure out. I did not complain .... it might go on my perment record. In any case if you pay for a test you may as well get the most out of it that you can. Now I can say with certainty, that I'm with in normal peramiters of mental heath. :heh:

This is my begining. I have pretty much done everything I need to for my lap band. 1. I have my sweetheart on board(he loves me better than I love myself) 2. I have analysed the money needed and the time off work, I know I can do this(for the record Im a self pay and make 28k a year, the money is from my IRA) 3.I read up on this proceedure.I checked info from places other than lap band doctors. 4.I checked out my doctor, how many surgeries, and the hospital(by the way is your doctor going to be the one to actually do it or his assistant) 5.I thought about this surgery for a long time. Was it worth the cost? Did it usually work? Could I follow the regiment necessary to suceed?(The juries still out on that). Was there alot of complications that would be more dangerous than the weight? 6.Bought all the vitamins and protein drinks needed.so I'd feel ready. 7.I started taking the vitamins and replacing breakfast with the protein. 8.I'm walking 30min a day,5 days a week. 9.I'm trying to lose some weight. 10.I need to think more about what I will do after surgery. 11.Am writing this journel to help me think about this whole thing. After reading this. I feel that Ive done my homework and am ready. Begining weight 311 Liquid diet starts in 4 weeks Surgery is Oct.4
