    Day 2 post op!

I am three and a half weeks post op now. Not on pain pills anymore, take a extra strength tylenol now and then. I think I stopped pain pills at the end of the first week. My stomach burned in only one of the incisions. Otherwise it wasn't too bad. I don't have to stand to eat, but can't eat more than about two and a half teaspoons of whatever I'm eating at a time. I do feel like sometimes it gets stuck above my stomach, but I notice that when I have eaten too much. I been eating egg salad, that seems pretty easy to digest. Applesauce goes down well. And still eating sugar free popsicles to try and get all my liquid in.

I drank Atkins Advantage for my two weeks preop, Pretty sure muscle milk was on the list too.

    Day 2 post op!

Dr. told me yesterday to drink two muscle milks a day and that would give me the protein I need. He gave me some anti nausea pills too so hoping for better luck holding liquid down today.

    Day 2 post op!

I got a unflavored protein powder, but seems like whatever I add it to, I can't handle it. Get nauseated afterwards. So makes me not eat it. I drink a protein drink to try and get in extra protein. Can't take that "Double Milk " either.
  5. 3 weeks post op now, my blood pressure had been running average, this past week, it is low. I go to the dr. next week and hopefully will get off the blood pressure meds, or at least start reducing them. Blood pressure was 99/68 yesterday. Don't have a lot of energy, don't know if that's from diet or the blood pressure or both!

    3 weeks post op

No, at 3weeks post op, still have very little energy, I can walk good, but can't stand long. Other than the nausea, I feel good. Going to doctor today. Hopefully get something different for the nausea. Will update later.

    3 weeks post op

I get my fluids most every day, just had a day or two where I really felt nauseated and didn't get enough those days. Feel better today.
  8. So yesterday I was three weeks post op sleeve surgery. This past week have had more nausea spells than first week. Not sure if it's from milk or changing to thicker soups. Find myself not even wanting to eat or drink when nauseated. Went all day yesterday without eating and drinking, but realized I should not do that. After getting some of a protein drink down, I began to feel better. Getting up and moving around some, but not as much as I should be. Go back to dr. tomorrow for post op appointment. Supposed to return to work next week.
  9. I am only 1 week post op, the first 24 hours I couldn't hold water down. So they started giving me the chicken broth early. That was much easier to hold down. I can keep the water down now, just have to take small sips at a time, but not getting as much as they want me to.
  10. Update: I am one week post op today, my blood pressure has been excellent since my preop appointment, but my Primary Care Doctor wants me to continue to stay on my blood pressure meds for one month following surgery. My next appointment with her will be the end of this month, I will let you know what happens with the blood pressure meds.
  11. Today I am one week post op. I have lost 13 pounds since last Tuesday morning, day of surgery. What I remember most about my two day hospital stay was the hiccups. I would eat ice chips, get the hiccups, drink Water, get the hiccups, eat broth, get the hiccups. Water didn't stay down too well at first. My surgery was at noon, by 11pm that night I sat up in a chair for the first time. I had a pain pump that I controlled to help with the pain. Including my drain incision, I have 5 cuts from the laproscopic surgery. The largest one being on my lower left side is the one that hurts the worst. They have to stretch the muscles there to pull the stomach out. It is still the one that bothers me the most. As long as I keep on top of my pain meds, it's not too bad. Doctor took the drain out yesterday and told me to start alternating with Tylenol to try and reduce the amount of pain pills I am taking. Your not going to feel like it but it definately helped in the hospital to get up and walk. I had to be pushed a little, but after walking, did feel better. I am on a full liquid diet now, which I am tolerating, but about two and half teaspoons of Soup fills me up, so takes a while to eat my 4 oz. soup for lunch. Have to take my pills one at a time and wait a few minutes in between to avoid nausea. The car ride to the dr. yesterday also made me slightly nauseated. Feeling better each day though. The hiccups did finally subside after about the 4th day, thank goodness.
  12. Thanks for all the feedback ! Will let you know how it goes after surgery!
  13. I'm hoping to get off them altogether. I understand the dieting and exercise, and my wife has that all planned out, lol!
  14. My surgery is tomorrow. I have been on blood pressure meds for several years now. Anyone had their blood pressure get better immediately after surgery? Does it take a couple weeks?

    February 25 anyone?

Tomorrow is coming on fast now. All packed for the hospital. My surgery isn't until 12 noon, have to be NPO tonight after midnight. I have lost 15 pounds on the preop diet. Didn't think I could make it thru that, but I did. Wish you all well on your surgeries!
