  1. Hello Everyone, I am writing to you because I needed to get some advice. Last week I had my lap band removed due to some complications and thus decided to have it removed. I got my band 6 years ago and have lost 60lbs and was able to maintain it for four years. However, now that I have the band removed I have forgotten how life was before the band, which is a bit scary. Thankfully, since the removal I have lost weight, but I ams still nervous to eat too much because I may gain weight. With that said, my question is it possible to lost weight after the lapband removal, or is weight gain always going to happen? Sorry if this is all over the place. I appreciate any advice that you can provide. Thank you
  2. Hi nhelena86, Thank you for your reply. It's nice to hear that I am not alone in this area. It's so scary and I am not sure what to do yet. As of now I don't crave anything, but I don't know how I will be in a few weeks. I still do Protein shakes because I do like how they help me from eating anything unnecessary (pre and post lap band removal). Have you tried doing a Protein shake after dinner? Not sure if it would help, but maybe.... I don't want to have another surgery, but I get where you are coming from because you have worked so hard and don't want it all to go to waste. I just mentally can't take another surgery and being out from work and such. I am going to try losing weight without surgery, and see how it goes. Just like you said, maybe we can create our own success stories :-). Let me know if you ever want a weightloss buddy :-) Good luck as well, I know you will do amazingly well.

    Slippage cost?

Hi, So, I just got the news today that I have a slip and that I need surgery to fix it this month. I'm very scared.....I have blue cross ppo and I want to know how much it would cost for surgery to fix a slip. I would think that it would be less than the initial surgery. Does anyone know? Any information or insight would be helpful. Thanks!
  4. Hi All, I have had the lap band for two years now and now my insurance doesn't cover any revision surgery. I have a slip and need surgery, but since my insurance isn't going to help then I'll have to fork out $14,000.00! :-( so now that no matter what I need the surgery I'm debating on getting it removed or not. If I were to get the revision surgery it doesn't guarantee that I won't get another slip, but if I remove it, I'm worried that I'll gain all my weight back and that terrifies me. Do you think that if I act as if I have the band and eat right and exercise that I'll be okay? I need help with this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
