  1. That's not true for everyone. Neither my surgeon nor my insurance had any requirements like that.
  2. My husband was very opposed to the surgery. I told him too bad, I'm doing it because it's what's best form me. Now that he sees results he agrees. He also sees that it's not "the easy way out".
  3. Unless they did it while I was in surgery, I never had a leak test. Two months out, I feel fine and not worried about it.
  4. I'm like you Egg! I was sleeved 2/3 and have lost 23lbs. I follow the rules, just a slow loser.
  5. Count your blessings. I was sleeved 2/3/14 and have lost 23 lbs
  6. Went to Vegas on Monday, came home Wednesday night....gained 4 lbs! I thought I was eating healthy, mostly chicken, seafood, some veggies. I can only guess that the food must have been really loaded with sodium. I do know I didn't drink enough. I was expecting to be down a pound or two.
  7. All bcbs plans are different depending on your state and specific benefit plan. If you go to your plans web site, some of them have a coinsurance predictor that will give you an idea of what your share will be. I have anthem bcbs of ca and they have it. You will need the procedure code for the surgery you are planning. They took about 4 or 5 days for approval.
  8. I was sleeved on 2/3 and I've only lost 19lbs. It is very frustrating when your scale doesn't move and it seems like everyone else is loosing 10lbs a week. But I know it's nothing I'm doing wrong and it's not like I can cheat, it's just the way my body has always been. It just sucks.
  9. I was also sleeved on 2/3, about 5 1/2 weeks ago. I have had no pain since the first week. I was hoping that I would have lost more than 20lbs by now, so I'm going to try eliminating most carbs. The problem is that I'm now lactose intolerant and can't have most Protein drinks. A lot of Proteins like chicken, etc are still difficult to eat and get enough in to meet the protein criteria. Figures that carbs have no problem going down. On the upside, people are noticing and I can get into jeans a size smaller
  10. I really miss living in Florida (Tampa). I've lived in so cal for the last two years. Yes, the weather is nice but it's so expensive it's just not worth it.
  11. I was told no gummies. I use the trader joe's chewable multi. Cheap and not bad.
  12. I was sleeved on Feb 3rd and have lost about 18lbs in the 4 1/2 weeks. I did have a 10 day stall at week 3 where I lost nothing.

You can get it at target and whole foods too.
  14. The first surgeon I went to charged a $4000 - yes that's 4 thousand dollars- for a "program fee". He's in Thousand Oaks, CA. When I asked what this program covered, they said two weeks of optifast for the pre surgery liquid diet, some blood work ( which my insurance covers), and nutrition counseling. I found another doctor who did not charge a program fee at all and I liked him much better.
  15. I use so delicious coconut milk, but I was just thinking that doesn't really help if the mix has milk in it
  16. Cedars-Sinai? My hosp bill for 1 night was over $98k. My share was $1600 after insurance. I did like the private room tho. Looks like it included anesthesia too, which is good.
  17. Well that's depressing. It's a great app but I didn't even earn a "keep trying". I'm in my third week and I've lost about 15 lbs so far.
  18. Princess- I hated the plain yogurt too, but I can have the Greek flavored ones as long as there are no lumps. The Dannon lite & fit toasted coconut vanilla and key lime are really good.
  19. I just tried a few bites of scrambled eggs and had a bad reaction . The unjury unflavored is a good source for adding protein to food, if you can get past the smell. I've tried it in soups and you can't taste it. Last night I tried some Refried beans with guac and a little enchilada sauce- yum and no problems!
  20. I cant handle narcotics including morpheme so they gave me dilaudid the whole time and it worked great. I have very little pain.
  21. I was sleeved on 2/3/13 and down about 7lbs. I really hate the protein drinks, although the unjury ones mixed with unsweetened coconut milk are not bad.
