That's a very good point - I've taken in Protein and liquids and didn't even think about fiber - which I just looked and have had 0 fiber!!

JackieN78 got a reaction from BeagleLover in Worried because I haven't found a protein shake yet.
I use Unjury personally. I've been on a kick of using 8 ozs Trop 50 orange juice (reduced sugar and carbs - within my 10 per serving guideline) and I add a scoop of vanilla unjury to it. It's pretty tasty if I say so myself. Not a daily thing for me but when I need a good 20 grams Protein for a day it helps! Also when I drank Optifast pre-op, I used to mix a shake with Water, add a truvia (Splenda) packet, ice and a flavor extract - peppermint with chocolate shakes was amazing! That made them more palatable at least

Finally broke my 1st stall! I thought I had eaten too much the past couple of days, but I got on the scale this morning and I'm down 3lbs. Whew, waiting out that stall was frustrating! I don't know if it was just being patient, or upping my calories that did it, but I am so relieved. I didn't lose anything (and actually gained a pound) for 8 days. Hoping that things are back on track now and I can continue my journey toward a new me, and a new life. if you hit a stall, hang in there!

Was sleeved on 6/6. Back at home today. It was a rough couple days but feeling better and better. Glad to have started my journey. Trying to get all fluids in is very hard. But I have a great support system.

JackieN78 got a reaction from CalDJones in This is all getting very real!
Thursday 6/26 is my day! I'm first on the board for my doctor, and I couldn't be happier about it! The past couple days though at work I have had people come by and wish me well with surgery and it's just been a bit surreal. I have never been shy with my decision to do this - if they can't look at me and see why I'm doing it then they may need some glasses! They have all been supporting and understanding of the liquid diet, some jerks but for the most part they don't flaunt food in front of me . I hope when I wake up Thursday (very early) in the morning, that I'm still so excited. I don't want to be scared of this. Quite honestly I'm more scared of not waking up some morning if I don't do it!!

Like you when the date crept up I got scared. Forced my self throught the proceedure and upon waking up after surgery I ended up being very happy. There really is not much pain. I didnt need pain relief. I could drink Water, no problem. All my fears were gone. The surgery in my case which the nurses told me is typical was much easier than having my shoulder rebuilt. This surgery was a piece of cake.
Three weeks later I was off all my meds and down 40 lbs total including the one week pre-op diet. Today, half way through week 4 I just went into the 2's on the scale. Almost a third of my journey.

You are almost there! I hope you have an easy recovery period. I can't imagine how excited and nervous you must be at this point. Soon you will be on the other side of this surgery and telling how us good you feel

You know you have lost weight when you see someone struggling with weight like you once did or currently are, and you have a desire to help.

Congrats on your decision to have surgery . Im 7 weeks post op and so happy I did this. I was so scared before the surgery and for me that was the worst part of the whole thing. Prayers for a fast recovery.

Yaay! So excited for us. It does feel like it's forever & a day away but I'm sure the time will go by very quickly. Are you ladies nervous yet? Excited? Have you started taking your Vitamins? Trying Protein Drinks, shakes, powders? I've started on vitamins but not Protein yet. I need to do that ASAP! I'm excited for JUNE this year! Hopefully I won't have to cover up under so much clothes this summer.

JackieN78 reacted to ChristmasJanet in Started full liquids and CPAP last week. Going crazy!
I am scheduled for my sleeve on the 25th. Thank goodness that is only 9 more days! Started the full liquid preop diet last Wednesday and got a CPAP machine on Thursday. I feel like I am losing my mind! Feeling dizzy, nauseated, and exhausted! I definitely slept better without the CPAP, but apparently they can track it and if I put off using it, they will pick it up. I have not cheated on either though. Not really seeking advice or anything. Just whining!

Done!! 6 months of pre requisites and visits with my last weigh in on July 8th! Started with seminar, Dr weigh in, psychologist evaluation, ultra sound, psychology evaluation, (somehow different from psychologist? ) nutritionist, stress test, sleep study, gallbladder removed, blood work 2x, chest xray, upper gi, and 6 monthly visits to the doctor! And people want to know if I'm sure I want this? Lol. I've been poked, prodded, and parts removed, evaluated, weighed, and still I'm here wishing I was post op by now. Yeah, I'm sure
