  1. I was banded at Mercy Medical by Dr. John Kasper. His office is great as well as the Comp. Weight Management program at Mercy.
  2. OOOOPs!! Thanks for pointing that out!! I keep looking at the ticker and that is correct, so I didnt even notice!! Anyways, I am having it done at Mercy Medical in Springfield (I work there)by Dr. Kasper.
  3. Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy!! I got my date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! April 18th is the day I shall join "the banded"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I work for Mercy Medical in Springfield, and have been attending the Comprehensive Weight Loss Program there since September. After you see the surgeon for the first time, he requires that you go to the program. Then, once approved by the psychiatrist, nutritionist, and nurse practitioner, you go back to the surgeon. The NP required that I had a sleep study and endoscopy, both of which I have done along with a ton of bloodwork and attended two preop classes. I got the okay and went back to the surgeon this past Monday and got his ok. I am hoping that all of this is good enough for HNE!!!
  5. So, I saw the surgeon yesterday. The visit was almost the same as the first one 6 months ago. He said now it is all up to Health NewEngland, which can take 2 days or 2 months for them to approve, after that I will finally have the date that I have been waiting for!! Yaaayyy!!! Has anyone else dealt with health new england for approval?? Had to go today to get the CPAP machine for the sleep apnea that I hope I wont need for long!!
  6. Hi everyone! I am in the Springfield area and have been preparing since August 2007. It has been pretty long and drawn out, but thats ok, I guess!! I first had my consult with Dr. Kasper in August, then went to the Mercy weight Management program in September. Then had to start my testing, had a sleep study in November (the results were not done until just this week), then had to get in with a Gastroenterologist, that took a good 1 1/2 months, then had to get scheduled for an upper endoscopy, another 2 months, and here we are now. Finally my final pre-op visit to the surgeon (at least I hope it is!!) this Monday. Then the insurance process shall begin and hopefully I will be officially banded by the middle to end of next month!! I have to get fitted for a lovely CPAP machine this week too for the sleep apnea!! I never realized all of this would come from my decision to become one of the banded!!
  7. Hi Everyone, I am brand new to the forum and am happy that I found it!! I am 32 from W. Mass, have my first appointment scheduled with the surgeon for September 6th. I am pretty excited about it, but scared at the same time!! It sounds like most people are happy with the band, and I am ready to do this. I like many of you have been overweight all of my life and am just sick and tired of it. I had lost 30lbs at the end of last year, and here I sit with all of it back plus one! I was so disgusted with myself, and that is what helped me to make the decision that now is the time!!:whoo:
