  1. Thanks - I met with a Dr. today, and he agreed the surgery is the right thing for me...so begins my 6 month journey - ! Wahoo!
  2. I know this probably sounds so dumb, but I am looking for a Dr. who will do the 6 month required medically supervised weight loss program. I have a dr. but just am feeing weird to suddenly ask him to do a weight loss program for me - - can someone recommend someone who will be non judgmental? Mid town, East side or near NYU best.
  3. I had planned to do surgery in NJ, until I noticed that my insurance indicates that NYU Bariatric is 'Certified" and if I qualify I put no $ out at all - a huge decision maker for me. I attended the info session last week, and have to complete my 6 month documented weight loss program. Just wondering if any one has experience with the NYU team and if you can share any information? Tks!
  4. I am thrilled that they cover the lapband surgery, but now it won't be for 6 more months. Any one else going through this? Also, I know this is a weird question, but what if I do lose weight on it and am no longer at a BMI of 40? Then I won't qualify! :faint:
  5. Thank you for your reply - I do appreciate it and wish you continued success - you are doing great!
  6. Hi, I don't have answers for you, as I went to my first seminar on Thursday night. I had orginally thought I wanted a lapband, but now, after the seminar, I am wondering if the gastric bypass is more for me. One of the reasons I have this change of heart is knowing that there will be a foriegn object in me forever! It creeps me out! I will be interested to find out which you decide. How much weight would you like to lose?
