Pkdvm got a reaction from Cody's mom in Rockin' this sleeve!
I know that I'm only just beginning, having had my surgery exactly 3 weeks ago(July 28), but I'm so excited I just had to share. I'm down 30# from my highest weight, just had my measurements redone by my trainer and I've lost 12 1/2" and I feel great!
So far, I'm thrilled with the changes both psychologically and physically.
I think that Sleevie and I have a bright future ahead. The information and support from this website have been invaluable- thanks to all.

Thanks to all of you who were kind enough to reply and/or like my post. I know that I have a long way to go, but I'm headed in the right direction and really feel as if I've got all of the tools that I need to make this happen for me. It's been wonderful reading so many success stories along with the people who were brave enough to post their complications and problems. I truly am so grateful for this forum and for contact with fellow sleevers, as well as for the care I've received from my surgeon, nutritionist and office staff.
Can't wait until its time to post some before and after pix:)

Pkdvm got a reaction from MrsSugarbabe in Give it to me straight.
Hi! I just had my surgery on July 28th and have been blessed with an uneventful recovery. I stayed one night in the hospital, came home exhausted but with minimal pain. I had a friend stay with me for a few days post op( single mom with a special needs daughter) and after the first day home she did very little for my care, but was great to have here for moral support. I started driving 2 days post op, as I was off of pain meds then. Once I was able to start full liquids(day 4 post op), I had a lot more energy.
As far as I'm concerned, this has been much easier to recover from than previous surgeries that I've had. Now if I can just get the hang of eating slowly, I'll be golden.
Good luck to you!

Pkdvm reacted to Jvschultz in Three Year Sleeveaversary!
Today is my 3 year sleeveaversary! My weigh currently fluctuates between 137 and 141 and I'm happy with that. My goal weight is set to 125 however if I dont get there thats ok. I have to say maintaining is the hardest part. I exercise like a beast but I still need to work on my eating habits- they could be better. My goal this year is to meet with a nutritionist to help me with that.

Pkdvm reacted to Angi~2014 in newly sleeved and reaching out...
Thank you ALL so very much for your words of wisdom and encouragement. It truly helps knowing that there are others who can truly relate what you are going through.... Struggles and battles in general can be rough, but when you add the battles with an anxiety disorder, it really amplifies and adds a lot more to the battle itself.... giving voice to this truly helped me.
I woke up feeling lighter and less clouded having reached out and shared this post.
Today is another NEW day and I embrace it as such... (not trying to be "dramatic", just honest in the midst of my battle with anxiety etc...) another step in this new journey..... ..I will heed the good insight and advice given too.
Sincerely, and best wishes to you all too.
Angi

Pkdvm got a reaction from Angi~2014 in newly sleeved and reaching out...
Hi-
I think that the best thing that you can do is what you have done, reaching out on this site and asking for reassurance that you are not alone with your fears. You have already done a very brave thing, pursuing and having your surgery. Now we just stick to the guidelines set for us and we WILL have success.
I'm only about a week ahead of you, so no great expert, but it looks as if you're doing great! If you're healing well and feeling a bit better everyday, that's success! If you feel that the number on the scale is going to cause you more anxiety, I'd put the scale away and just weigh yourself once a week.
Wishing you all the best!

Pkdvm reacted to KQH in JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Baby lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots = no problem at all. Sprinkled with feta and a good quality balsamic vinegar is HEAVEN! I was craving salad something fierce.
I'm eating between 800-1000 on a regular day, getting all Water and Protein + healthy veggies, bike & treadmill 5+ days/week, and am down 50 lbs since pre-op.
