    Losing it!

I'm so sorry that you're feeling this way. Sorry, but not surprised from all I've read-this sounds like a lot of newly post op folks. No advice from me, just sympathy. Can you chew on something and spit it out? Just a thought...probably a bad one...
  3. Hi, Nurse 96 I'm not yet on my 2 week pre op diet, but can surely understand the feelings that you are experiencing. I'm starting to modify my diet, not drinking 30/30 with meals and eating more slowly, trying out Protein shakes to find ones that I can at least get down that don't smell like a monkey's butt. When I get off track, I tell myself that Rome wasn't built in a day, I'm never going to unlearn decades of bad habits without some detours along the way. Be kind to yourself and you can handle this-I figure that my liver will have to shrink with such a significant calorie reduction when it's my turn.
  4. You look stylish in both pictures, but wow, such a great result. Good for you! I just LOVE seeing these pictures and can't wait until it's my turn to get this party started.
  5. Good for you! You've got this!

    Losing it!

OMG, you'd fit right in with me and my BFF. We've been friends since college and have the same type of sense of humor. Hope you get to go home today and feel better!

    Protein shots

I'm still pre op, but I tried something called Pocket Protein at my Wegmans store and it tasted pretty good- there's one for women(15g) and men(20g). The women's one was strawberry flavor and the guys' one was berry, I think. Ran it past my NUT and she said it looked good. Website is pocketprotein.com.

    Losing it!

Cracked me up about UHC having to pay for an extra night. Hope tonight is better for you and you don't throw the pump out the window.

    Losing it!

Hope you get some pain relief and some sleep. Best wishes.
  15. Hi Just to add what my doc said regarding GERD/heartburn and WLS- I asked specifically as I've been treated for GERD for many years- he said that while there is a chance that reflux may appear or worsen with the sleeve, in his patients, he's only had 3 that needed revision to RnY because of that. I feel confident in going ahead with the sleeve, as weight loss itself may improve my reflux dramatically. Good luck with your decision- as long as it's a fully informed one, it's the right decision for you.

    Good luck to you!
  17. Glad to hear that you're doing so well. I ordered a sample pack from Celebrate, but no cake batter flavor. Looking forward to the chocolate one they sent, though. Love reading your posts:)

I also avoid the camera like the plague. That really resonated with me , too. You look simply stunning and thank you for sharing your pictures.

    Sleeved yesterday

I have no advice, as I'm still waiting for this life changing event. Just wanted to say that I wish you well and that every day gets easier for you.
  20. Wow! You look amazing! I'm 5'1" also and hoping for my surgery in June or July. Love seeing such success! Good for you.

    Just starting

Hi I also have a daughter with special needs, she's 23 and has Williams Syndrome. I'm pursuing this surgery because I need to be here(and healthy) for as long as I can and it's way past time for me to look after myself, too. As caregivers it's often hard to realize that caring for ourselves isn't selfish. Good luck to all!
  22. Hi, Jerziegirl I've been wondering how you were feeling, glad to hear that your pain has been very manageable. No wonder you're feeling weak. When do you start on Protein drinks? I know that the post op diet is designed to allow your stomach to heal properly, but it also seems like it's hitting a restart button on your metabolism. A profound change that allows a new system to function well. Anyway, I hope your recovery continues smoothly. Phyllis
