  6. NiaSia: That's what my pre-op diet is as well. Start mine on May 10th with surgery on the 20th. Like you, I'm trying to take it one phase at a time! I'm a planner so this is a little difficult but there is so much to think about that I have forced myself to take it one step at a time and "trust the process". Good luck!!
  7. Wow!! Tuesday...coming quick :-) Are you from Minnesota or just a VIkings fan?
  8. I'm May 20th! Having my Gallbladder out at the same time. Pre-Op diet starts May 10th so getting my house in order...literally! Spring Cleaning my life; starting with the house! Closet is cleaned out...got rid of ALOT of clothes and can't wait to get rid of the rest as I shrink out of them! Purchased my incentive outfit....cute pair of jeans with bling on the butt (this time people will be looking at my butt because I've got cute jeans on rather than granny jeans lol!) and a cute Vikings t-shirt with some bling as well. I'm going to wear those things at the start of Football season if it kills me lol! Psyching myself up for the pre-op liquid diet...10 days. I GOT THIS! Good luck everyone!!
  9. COngratulations! I always say that timing is everything.....for me, as a Christian my motto is...HE's NEVER early, NEVER late but ALWAYS right on time :-) Can't wait to read how things go for you! Rome ps What a great idea...mani and pedi before surgery :-) Just added that to my list!
  10. Bought a pair of jeans with a little bit of butt bling :-) Believe me when I get into those jeans I will be strut tin' my stuff :-)
  11. I started the process at the end of January. I have Healthpartners and had to do 5 phone call appointments with them 2 weeks apart (so that took 10 weeks total), I had the Psych eval, EKG, nutritionist appointments, sleep study. When all of those things were completed they submitted my file to the insurance company. I was approved within a week! Then I met with the surgeon, Dr. Jones (He's with Park Nicollet Methodist/Meadowbrooke) this past Monday and got my surgery date of May 20th! Wednesday, I met with the nutritionist again for the information on the pre-op liquid diet ( 10 days) and then what I can expect after surgery and what the plan is going forward. Pre-op physical is the last step which is next week. I am ready to start the pre-op liquid diet on May 11th. I have called this my Wizard of Oz Journey in other posts. I'm on my way to Oz (sleeve), my "wizard" Dr. Jones is the best doctor in Mpls. St. Paul and has done many of these procedures, I'm keeping eye on those "flying monkeys" (ie. negative thoughts, tempations etc) and am reminded by the "good witch Glenda" (my nutritionist) that I can do this! All "Dorothy" (Me) needs to do is remember to click my heels and repeat, "There's nothing like health and thin, there's nothing like health and thin, there's nothing like health and thin!!" AKA....trust the process! Excited for you! Keep in touch :-)
  12. Just found out today....MAY 20 th :-)
  13. I will be having my gallbladder out at the same time as the sleeve being done. One recovery :-)
  14. Snochick: I see you had Dr. Jones as a surgeon. He is going to be mine as well. I was very impressed with him at todays consult! What a down to earth person! Very easy to talk to!
  15. I've considered this my Yellow Brick Road journey....THe Land of Oz - My Sleeve :-) My "Wizard" - surgeon...who's fabulous!) You're right those "flying monkeys" (pre-diet voices telling me to eat and after) are going to be my challenge. WHen they try to derail me I will remind myself of the "Good witch Galinda's" words....."Rome/Dorothy...you have had the power within you all along" I will then "click my heels" and tell myself...."there's nothing like health and thin, there's nothing like health and thin, there's nothing like health and thin!"
  16. Turbo and others: I'm feeling an array of emotions as well! Eating to live vs. living to Eat is my motto going forward! Each day I'm more excited and then nervous..rollercoaster! However, I am looking forward to this tool to give me the start I have needed for sooo many years! Want my outside to match my inside....new career, new body, great health....NEW ME! I have alot of living yet to do!!!
  17. Just got my date today....MAY 20th HERE WE COME!!!

  19. Hi All! Tomorrow I have my appointment with the surgeon. I'm wondering if there were any specific questions any of you asked your surgeon. My thoughts....how many procedures he's done, mortality/leak rate, hospital stay length...etc. Others? Thanks!
  20. The hardest part for me is the diet Pepsi....something about those bubbles, ice and straw! I' m thinking this May be a go cold turkey thing for me :-)
