  1. Misstatum: Please add me to the list.... Down 127 Thanks. Sue Magoo
  2. MsTrina27: Best wishes for your successful surgery tomorrow. Hopefully you'll be feeling like I did in a month - "best thing I've done for myself in years". By the way, I have a Ms Trina for a Daughter. She works as an assistant school teacher during the summer while she's in college, and the kids all call her Ms. Trina. Let us know how you're feeling. Remember, it is surgery, so you need to rest, relax, and recuperate. Take care. Sue
  3. Kat: Wishing you well on your plastic surgery. Enjoy your vacation with friends, but rest up too so that you'll heal well. I look forward to reading your post-surgery posts. Take care. Sue
  4. Hastings: Glad to hear that you love your trikke too. I don't know what's considered good or bad. I don't fall off, and I have fun. Sounds good to me. I cannot do hills, don't think I ever will. I noticed today that I'm actually building muscle in my thighs!! Under all of that loose skin lives some muscle that's getting toned. Yippee. I think I love my trikke even more now. LOL! Sue
  5. Nonni: Right where you belong, Onederland. Congratulations. Sue
  6. Freebird: I hope you love your trikke as much as I love mine. I feel kind of crazy about how much I enjoy my trikke. This morning I woke up and heard the weather today and right away I thought of going on my trikke today at noon. I actually rode it at noon and again right after work. Be careful, and make sure you where a helmet at a minimum. You might want elbow and knee pads too. Have fun! Sue
  7. Dr. Schulman: Have any of the bariatric surgeons ever consulted you about placement of the port to reduce scarring for those who might want to have a tummy tuck after they are at goal? What is the best place? Just curious. Thanks for answering our questions on the forum. Sue
  8. Hi Sunflower: If you can take a nap each afternoon you'll be okay. Otherwise you'll probably be exhausted. I was even though I was on an at home vacation for first two weeks. It's also hard to stick to all liquids unless you're not eating socially for a while. Take care. Sue
  9. Rainer: I've seen your full pics on the before & after thread. I would have sworn that you were under 200 already. You look great. You'll be there before you know it. Take care. Sue
  10. renewed hope: I got so excited when I hit Onederland and since then I've been see-sawing back and forth 199, 200, 199, 200. I'm hoping that I can push it down to 197 so that I don't kick back up to 200 ever again. Congratulations on 193. I'm jealous.:wink2: Sue
  11. Hi: Because you've had a kidney transplant I wouldn't mess around. Call your surgeon today and ask the expert for advice. Good luck and I hope that it turns out to be nothing serious. Take care. Sue
  12. Hi: I asked at surgeon's support group why they don't use the smaller port. The surgeon said it's alot harder to do a fill on the smaller port, so he doesn't use it. He puts the port under the rib cage in the middle, so it's unlikely that anybody will be able to see it. I'm down to 199 and nobody can see mine, though I can feel it inside. It's kind of reassuring that I know it's always there along with my band - my belly cop. Good luck. Sue
  13. Hi: Are you sure you only have a 4cc band? I have one and I'm only up to 1.8 in my band and I've had it for 11 months. Don't feel badly if you have a 4cc versus one of the bigger ones. I've been told that it is easier to keep at a good restriction level than the bigger bands. I think it took me 3 fills before I got restriction. I cannot remember what that was, I think 1.25. Good luck. Sue
  14. Aubrie: My doctor recommended that I have FF yogurt, or a piece of fruit, or something like that at about 4 o'clock because I told him I was so hungry by the time I got home I'd eat the butt off a dog. He said that it's not good to wait too many hours between eating. Try having a healthy snack and it should help you stay on plan. Congratulations on your loss and exercise habits. Sue
  15. Jaymie: I don't know how many calories it burns, but I know that I get my heart rate up over 120 usually when I'm riding it. I also can get sweaty when I'm on a longer ride. I'm here in New England, so it's hard to find someplace long and flat without alot of bumps or small hills. So, I spend a fair amount of time walking and pushing it too. I got a bunch of sore muscles at first too, so I'm guessing that it's using muscles that haven't been used for a while. Good luck. The sun is shiny today so I'm looking forward to a great trikke ride today. Take care. Sue
  16. Sam: I just looked back and I didn't track it that closely back at the beginning, but I lost 17.5 pounds the first month after I was banded. I lost 38 pounds in the three months before banding so that's why only (ha ha) 17.5 the first month post band. I'm not sure how much you weigh, Sam. I recommend that you think about it a pound at a time, or a day at a time, if you need to lose alot. It can be so overwhelming to think about it if it's a big number. I started by needing to lose 164 pounds, and now I'm down to needing to lose 40. If I had to keep thinking about 164 I don't think I could have done it, mentally. Good luck, and let me know if you have any more questions. I have a daughter whose just 3 years older than you. Take care Sam. Sue
  17. hollygurl: Hope all went well on the 9th. Take care. Sue
  18. Hi Christy: My doctor had us on all liquids ten days pre-op. That meant having sugar free drinks, clear broths, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello. I cannot tell by your posting how much you weigh. Maybe your doctor isn't concerned with you losing weight before your surgery. Best wishes for your surgery and weight loss. Take care. Sue
  19. Pen: I haven't got any experience with this, I just wanted to say that I hope everything goes well for you. Take care. Sue
  20. ifonly: I read somewhere on here that getting your band is surgically similar to getting your band put in. I recall alot of swelling for about the first ten days when I got my band. The Water weight when I got banded almost sent me over the edge - I gained 9 pounds in 3 days. It took about a week to ten days to get those nine pounds off and it's been going down since. Take care. Sue
  21. dewthedew: I haven't had much luck with the pedometer feature yet, but the heart rate monitor and time work good on a sportline watch that I bought. My problem with the pedometer is that I accidently turn it off several times during the day. Good luck with your weight loss and fitness watch. They have quite a few to pick from at Dick's sporting goods. Take care. Sue
  22. Samantha: You'll probably feel almost as good as new in about a week. After that you might not have the energy you used to have, but it comes back over time. Then you can do everything you always did except overeat. If you try to overeat you will puke it back up and have pain, so don't bother. As far as your family issues, I hope things get better. I cannot imagine having my Daughter living far from me. Take care and hope you feel well soon. Let me tell you that getting some of the weight off makes you feel better both physically and mentally. I think that exercising helps too with both the mind and body too. Sue
  23. miamipeaches: Two things come to my mind. Is it possible that you are constipated? I had issues with that when I first started eating solids again. Another possibility is your gallbladder. I got pain in my back and also on my right side under the ribs area with my gallbladder. I hope you feel better soon and get in to see the doctor. Take care. Sue
  24. Cindy: Admitting that you're struggling is half the battle. Seeing the nutritionist and remotivating yourself will do good. Stop looking back and just look forward. Try setting a weekly goal of just to lose 1 to 2 pounds. Try to remember what you did to make the 140 pounds go away and do it again. I know it's so much easier when you have restriction, so keep working on that too. I've been playing around with the same 4 pounds for 3 weeks and I decided to journal to get me past this. So far, so good. Take care and best wishes. Sue
