Lower abdomin pain, Please Help!

Hi Everyone,

OK here is the situation, I was banded 4 1/2 weeks ago beginning of April. Everything seems to be going ok, but lately I have been having an aching pain in my lower ride side. (across from where my hip is) I don't think it is my appendix (because I can eat and I am not throwing up) I will call the doctor this week but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this pain. could it be gas? It hurts when I walk, and feels much better when I sit down. The pain comes and goes. I have moved to solid food this week so could that be it? Thanks so much!!:tt1:

Two things come to my mind. Is it possible that you are constipated? I had issues with that when I first started eating solids again. Another possibility is your gallbladder. I got pain in my back and also on my right side under the ribs area with my gallbladder.

I hope you feel better soon and get in to see the doctor.

Take care.

Sue

I haven't been banded yet, however from what i have been reading is when u move to solid foods it takes your body and your system more to break the food down. so your body has to adjust to the solid foods now.. it is that + the gas.. u should be ok just take some tylenol and some gas x and it should pass....:Dancing_wub:..hopefully..

It could be your gall bladder. I've got a bum one (no stones, just nonfunctioning (only 7%)) and was told by my surgeon that one of two things will happen after the surgery -- 1) I will be eating less fat and not have any problems OR 2) I will re-introduce some fat to my diet when I go back on solid foods and it will flare up. He said he has found it to be about a 50-50 thing with his patients who know they have a bum gall bladder bedore surgery. So it might be worth checking out.
