  1. Allison:

Your before & afters are absolutely amazing. How did you get your arms to be so thin? You look fabulous! So inspirational.

  2. Allison:

Congratulations on 5/29. It'll be here before you know it. Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck finishing up your school year at Bridgewater too.

  3. Amy - I read your blog too and just want to tell you how great you look. I enjoy your blog so much. This week when I go to support group I'm going to bring a list of my four favorite blogs and yours will be on the top of the list! Congratulations on 200. I sobbed when I saw 199 on the scale. It's such a big accomplishment. Enjoy the moment!

I was reading your post where you said that your band surgeon provides a tummy tuck 18 months postop. That's fabulous! I've never heard of that before. I would think that would be the only lap band surgeon in Connecticut once the word got out on that. Good luck with your band.

Plateaus can be demotivating. Now it's time to get back on track. If you're not sure why you are plateauing try journalling and kick up your exercise some if you can. Another thing to try is to mix up your foods. Still make healthy choices, but different foods than what you usually eat. It sounds like you need your mind adjusted, not your band. I've said that to my band surgeon many times about myself. So, take a step back and think about all that you've accomplished and tell yourself to get back on track so that you can accomplish more. Think about it one pound at a time and I think it's less overwhelming. My weight is stable and my exercise is starting to pick up with the improvement in the weather. Saturday I took a 7 mile walk. Tonight a fellow bandster is coming over so we can walk my hill for an hour. Take care. Sue

  6. Bucktober:

Thanks for the message you left on my profile page. Glad to have inspired you. There's alot of people on this site that inspire me. I guess that's why I keep on reading it. Best wishes to you with your band. Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be glad to try to help you.

  8. Hi Cutiew/Booty:

I just got your request to be a friend. Sure, I'll be friends with everyone!

Where are you in the band journey? As you can see I started my band journey 14 months ago. It's been a great trip!

    Welcome to lbt.

  9. Hi Denise:

I saw your pics on the b&a's thread. Just had to drop you a line to tell you how fabulous you look! Congratulations! Your hard work has paid off tremendously. I'm sure you feel great too. Congrats again!

  10. Hi Julie:

I'm going to send you a pm.

  11. Hi Julie:

I'm glad things are going well for you. Don't worry about a few pounds if you stay in the same size.

I'm working on getting a tummy tuck and awaiting approval from insurance for their portion (panni). I should know next week.

    Take care.

  12. Hi Meme:

I just wanted to say hello to a fellow Massachusetts bandster. I used to live on the Attleboro/Seekonk line. I've been in Norwood for the past 15 years.

Hope all goes well with your band.

    Sue

  13. Hi Miss Vicky:

Did you have your band put in at Norwood Caritas? That's where I got mine, with Dr. Adam Glasgow. Great Doctor!

Best wishes to you. I love my band because it's helped me to become an "average-sized" woman.

I wish the same to you. It's not easy, but if you exercise too it will come off faster. But then, it's not a race.

    Good luck.

    Sue

  14. Hi Nancyjean:

I'm thinking of you today. You're probably in pre-op now. I hope all goes well for you. Drop me a line when you feel up to it.

  15. Hi Sarah:

Yes, I did get alot of insurance coverage toward my tummy tuck. I had rashes under the flab that I had hanging after losing 140'ish pounds. I showed the rash to my lapband surgeon and also to the plastic surgeon. They submitted pictures to Blue Cross saying that it was medically necessary and they covered the panniculectomy part of my tummy tuck. I don't know the exact amounts, but I know I paid only $7,000. I think that the full cost is almost $20,000 here the Boston Area. I stayed overnight one night in a very nice hospital with a private room. Good luck to you.

  16. Hi Shamrockgirl60:

I saw your latest before & afters. You look amazing. I cannot believe that you are 30 lbs. from goal. I think that the BMI goals are alot lower than they should be. I think that they should shoot for average weight, not "thin weight". My bmi goal is 159, however I would be gaunt if I went that low.

You look great and I'm sure you feel great too.

    Congratulations.

    Sue

  17. Hi: About the plastic surgery. Please ask your doctor to put in a pain pump. I forget the exact term for it, but my plastic surgeon used one. She puts it in while she's doing the surgery and it has very small tubes that go from a bottle of anesthetic (kind of the size of a baby bottle) to the area of your surgery on the inside. It was like a quick shot of numbing that I could control just prior to getting out of bed, or anything that I could plan that might cause pain. It only lasted for three days but it was truly a godsend. I think you look fabulous! Good luck with the surgery. I'm curious about why you're getting a panniculectomy and not a tummy tuck. I was able to get the tummy tuck with insurance coverage for the panni. So, I paid the difference for the additional time, etc. Best wishes to you with your plastic surgery. I'll be thinking of you on 8/17!

  18. Hi:

Your cakes are beautiful! Have you been on the Food Network Challenges yet?

Best wishes to you with your new lap band.

  19. Hi:

Your latest picture is stunning. You should be on their advertisements.

It is so amazing the difference 100 pounds makes.

    Congratulations.

  20. Julie:

Sorry to hear about your accident, etc. Please get well and hopefully things will turn to the positive instead of accidents, etc. Take care and drop me a line when you are feeling better.

    Sue

  21. Julie:

Glad to see you on LBT again. You've been such an inspiration to me. I am thinking you've been offline enjoying that beautiful body that you worked so hard to get.

Best wishes to you, and thanks for the inspiration.

    Sue

  22. Kathyk1256:

Good for you with such a good start. I don't watch my food intake like I used to and I recently had surgery so my physical activity isn't what it used to be. I play around with 5 pounds and start watching what I'm eating more closely when it starts to creep up toward the top of the 5 pound leeway that I allow myself. I could lose more if I wanted to, however I'm almost 50 and I don't want to have any more loose skin on my neck because it's very wrinkly. Best wishes to you and your new band.

  23. Katie - When "falling off the wagon" the best thing to do is to climb back on and don't look back. You've done well before you can do well again. Being off schedule doesn't help. Try to stick to your routine and it helps you to keep eating your routine foods which are most likely good choices. You can do it!

    Sue

  24. Mimi:

Best wishes to you with your upcoming plastic surgery.

    I'll be thinking of you.

    Take care.
