Well tomorrow I start my FOUR week liquid diet consisting of boost diabetic and good old fashioned Water.
It's going to be a tough 4 weeks, but I have been waiting over 2 years for this! I am excited and scared. It's finally happening and I want it all to turn out and be as stress free as possible.
Do you guys have good support at home?

@@zcortes21 I will only be a little over a week out so I won't be having any goods either but hey we did get a rather large present from the insurance company!!! And next year we can buy a new (Smaller) Birthday outfit!! Yay! It's kinda neat that we are having surgery on a birthday Months. That's exactly how I look at it, a rebirth, starting over! Perfect!

My birthday is the 1st. It sucks I'll be on liquids lol

I'm also the 4th.

This was the easiest thing besides the fact that almost killed my nerves! But my surgery is officially November 10th!!

So after running out of the hospital in terror like a crazy person on my surgery date last week, I am here this week desperately trying to reschedule.
The scheduler told me on Monday she could make it for next week and she'd call me Monday afternoon or Tuesday. I heard nothing. I called, left messages. Still nothing today. I feel like I'm being punished for chickening out last week. Or maybe she's just busy, but I am dyin' over here!
I am also on week 3 of 4 on my pre-op diet, since I never stopped doing it in hopes of rescheduling ASAP. Good news is I've lost 3 more lbs since Friday. Bad news is I AM SO HUNGRY NOW. Pre-op diet was easy for the first week and a half or so, but starting to get hard.
Anyone else approved and anxiously awaiting the phone call to schedule? I am going crazy over here!

I have BCBS from Delaware and they only took 2 years. Call the insirance and see if there is a way around it. Good luck 2 u

I'm in the same boat! Was sent in on Friday last week and the nerves have set in!

I called UHC this afternoon and they stated that I my benefits have been confirmed and I am approved!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! I am so excited and nervous! One major hurdle has been over come, now I am off to the scheduling stage.

The surgery coordinator said they were submitting all my paperwork to insurance today!

I had BCBS Regents. I did not have those high deductibles so I guess every plan is different. I paid $30 for each dr visit copy when preparing for the surgery. My actual surgery I had to pay about $600, some for the surgeon and the rest was for the hospital. It is very important to understand that out of pocket is different then deductible. And it is important to understand that contracts with each hospital and surgeon is very individual and specific to their agreement. If in doubt what you will pay contact your ins company and give them your surgeon and hospital names. They will tell you in more detail what your costs will be.

I wasn't expecting anything but I hope the hospital bills me later. My out of pocket is $1500 with I have already paid 700 so it shouldn't be more then than 800 all together I hope.

I was watching weight loss videos on YouTube and came across a few people who did it naturally, and one in particularly basically said: "yes I lost my weight the natural way..no pills, no gimmicks no surgery!" I did it the hard way!...ok good for you. my whole thing is this, to each is own, I was a little offended by that comment because one as WLS patients we have to work extra hard to lose the same amount of weight a person who haven't had the surgery, we have to work out and eat right, there's no difference only we have a smaller stomach. people kill me with their opinions, don't judge those who is making the same lifestyle change as you. We just choose to go a different route.
