    Any good recipe sources?

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to locate a recipes section on this website. I'm new to this site, so I guess I'm just not looking in the right spots, lol! I'm going to google the eggface blog. Thanks again!
  3. Kezzer, I'm 11 days post-op...and I too have said "omg, what have i done??" I think it's a normal reaction when making such a huge life change. Don't be discouraged. You will find lots of kind people on this forum, who have great advice to share. My experience is a little different than yours, in that my surgeon likes to move his patients through the stages much faster. I was only on liquids for 5 days post-op, and then I could have light yogurt, cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, and scrambled eggs. I saw my surgeon for my first post-op visit this past Wednesday, and he moved me straight to Stage III, where I can now eat a much wider variety. I can have chicken, fish, tuna, soft veggies and fruits, cottage cheese, etc. I can't have any red meat, raw veggies, soft bread, carbonated beverages, and of course no high fat, high sugar items. Being able to now have that kind of normalcy in my diet has helped my mood tremendously. I tell you all that because maybe it's something that you might want to talk to your doctor about. Maybe they could allow you to have a bit more variety, and that could help your appetite and your mood. Don't give up, and don't be too hard on yourself. You made the best decision to get healthy and improve your life...and you will get there!
  4. Hello, fellow sleevers! I was wondering if anyone knows of any good websites or blogs for "sleeve-friendly" recipes? I'm at the point where I can now have chicken, fish, soft veggies, and small amounts of rice or Pasta. I'm looking for some ideas for dinner recipes. Thanks, all!
  5. You were beautiful in your "before" pic...and even more so in the "after!" Congratulations on your weight loss! I'm 11 days post-op, so it's very inspiring to see these kind of pictures...thanks for sharing!
  6. I've experienced this too...but it seems to come and go. A couple of times I've had to give my boyfriend the container to finish, and then other times I've been able to eat the whole container without batting an eye!

    Day 8...and really struggling

Thank you all so much for replying! It is so helpful to hear that my struggle isn't unusual, and that I'm not alone. I feel much better after reading these responses.
  8. I had sleeve surgery 8 days ago, 1/13/14, and over the last two days I've been feeling really depressed in regards to food. For the first 4-5 days post-op, I was on a liquid diet, i.e. broth, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free Jello, low sugar juice, etc. I did fine with that, but of course, I wasn't really wanting to eat at that point. Since Saturday, I've transitioned to the next stage, which allows me to add scrambled eggs, cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, and light yogurt. But I'm not doing so great. I've been having diarrhea randomly after eating, so I'm not sure if I'm eating too fast or not eating the right thing, or if this is just normal? The diarrhea isn't horrible, since there isn't a whole lot going in - there ain't much to go out! And I'm also just feeling so sad and depressed at all the things I can't eat now. I have the worst cravings. I was at the supermarket with my boyfriend on Sunday, and I walked past the deli area. This market has a gourmet olive bar, and I was overcome with the MOST incredible craving for an olive. I seriously considered going over, snatching an olive, and just putting it in my mouth so I could taste it. I rationalized it to my boyfriend, saying "I won't swallow it, just taste it." Thank goodness he was there to make me see how bad an idea that was. But it was so depressing walking around the store, looking at all the different foods, and feeling like I didn't belong there because so much of it is off-limits for now. Does it get easier? Are the feelings I'm having normal post-op feelings? I have my first post-op appointment with my doctor tomorrow, and I believe I will be transitioned to the next phase. I'm hoping maybe I'll feel better at the next stage. I'm going to talk to my doctor about this, but I'd welcome hearing from anyone else who has felt this way, is going through the same thing, or has some encouragement they can share. Thanks for reading, fellow sleevers.

    Three Days Post Op

Hi, all! I'm 7 days post-op from having gastric sleeve surgery. I spent two nights in the hospital, and I can't imagine having the procedure done on an outpatient basis either, but I'm glad to hear you are recovering well. I'm new to this website...I joined about 30 minutes ago, lol! I'd love to learn from fellow sleevers, and maybe make some new friends in the process. Any good tips to share? Sites/forums to visist? I'd love to hear from anyone, and I'll share any tips I learn along the way. Sadly, at this point I don't have any good ones...but hopefully that will change soon! Thanks, all!
