      Zoey716

@finediva - I'm about 7 months out from being sleeved and have had GREAT success. I'm already at my year goal for my surgeon - down over 55% of my excess body weight. So we were expecting a plateau to happen and sure enough it has. I've been at about the same weight for 5-6 weeks now. Just looking for a little jump!! :)

    3. finediva

      finediva

Ok. I hope it does it for you. Congrats on meeting your surgeon's goal. Keep going.

  7. @ 6 months out I have been in a plateau for almost a month now...a bit frustrating!

@GingerSnaps - I completed 80 bar rows with a 35lb bar, 75 wall balls (full squats) with a 10lbs medicine ball, and 173 jump ropes. Before we did that we work on strength - which for me was a split squat with a 35lb bar behind our head. Think of a full lunge with one leg behind you - knee to ground. And then we did box steps - with a 35lb bar again behind our head.

    Protein and Urinary Issues?

@@Kya Wolf - I had a hard time taking in any fluids post surgery. I was lucky if I was able to drink 20-30oz a day. liquid, esp Water seemed to make my stomach spasm - not sure why - but it did. Anyways - because I wasn't drinking nearly enough, I ended up with a UTI & kidney infection, which landed me back in the hospital for 2 days. I wasn't drinking enough Fluid to flush out my kidneys, which is what caused the infection. Try to keep drinking enough fluids. It will help. If you are concerned about an infection - def check with your doctor!! Hope you get some relief soon! Best of luck.
  19. Crossfit was GREAT last night! Learned some Olympic lifts then had a burpee challenge! :)

    1. aroundhky

      aroundhky

Love doing clean and jerks each week! It's a full body resistance lift with an element of cardio that makes my heart feel like it's coming out of my chest!

    2. Zoey716

      Zoey716

@aroundhky - we worked on push presses, push jerks, and split jerks last night. Did 3 reps x5 push press for strength - coaches kept encouraging me to add more weight - SO glad I did. Love feeling like I really pushed myself. Our WOD was Death By Burpees - 1st minute -1 burpee. 2nd minute - 2 burpees. 3rd minute - 3 burpees...etc. I made it thru minute 8, but pooped out in minute 9. lol. Will have to work on those. :) My heart DEF felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. lol.

    Clothing Sizes

From my experience - before surgery I squeezed myself into clothes that we too small but I made them fit. They stretched and lost their original shape - therefore they "fit"! During this process, I have gone from a tight 26/28 to being comfortable in a size 18 (might try on 16's this weekend!). Be patient with your body and the weight loss. You see the numbers changing on the scale which is fantastic - trust me - soon enough you will be dropping pant sizes so quickly! Congratulations on your weight loss so far! You're doing GREAT!

    Lose your teeth?

I have never heard of anyone losing their teeth. I echo what everyone else here said... as long as you take your Vitamins, supplements and Protein - there is no reason that you should fear losing your teeth. My guess is if you heard someone lose their teeth post surgery - they had some other oral issue going on that really has no correlation to bariatric surgery.

    Help! pain

@@mellytoon0908 - happy to hear you called your doc. Hope you get some answers and pain relief soon!!! Take care.

    Week 2 post op question...

This is very very normal. For weeks I was only eating tablespoons of food at a time. If you are drinking your Protein shake(s) and taking your Multivitamins you will be getting in nutrients and protein. Don't worry about quantity of food - give your new tiny tummy time to adjust - especially when adding in "new" foods. Best of luck to you!

    Help! pain

If you are having pain whether it is sharp/unbearable or like you describe as a sudden onset of consistent pain, you really should go to your doctor to make sure there isn't something serious going on internally. Don't take pain lightly and don't ignore it. Please call your doctor - that's what they are there for!! Hope you get some relief soon!!
