If you can handle eggs then maybe you can make deviled eggs, tuna fish, or egg salad. I buy frozen Italian meatballs and bake in marinara sauce and top it with Italian cheese. I eat cheese sticks for a snack. Chili topped with cheese or Wendy's chili. Baked sweet potatoes or refrained Beans topped with cheese.

I do have 1 slice of pizza and can eat with no problem. I also eat hot dogs with half the bun from time to time. However I am 6 months out and I don't keep my band tight.

I got my first fill 1 month out. He put 3cc's in and it was a little tight so he took some out. I left with 2.6cc's. I went back 2 weeks later and he pulled out 2cc's and added 2.2cc's. So I left with 4.2cc's. Next fill is set up 4 weeks from now. Not sure if I will need it because I think I am in the green zone now.

Sorry to hear that. Hope this unfill works much better for you. Your doctor is like mine and is aggressive with his fills. My first fill was 2 weeks ago on the 18th of 2.6 and I just had my 2nd fill on Tuesday which was on the 1st. I now have 4.2 cc's. I been able to eat 3 meals a day with no snacking, and I can go 4-5 hrs without eating now.

Hi all. Had my first fill last Tuesday, I think the nurse used a blunt needle! Was slightly stingy I have list 14 lds since pre op , that's mainly. Due to pre and post op diet.
Have found the hard way that if you don't follow the 20 20 20 rule unpleasant things happen.
Next fill in 4 weeks time with luck,, Think I have 9 ml injected in total. Well done to all February banders

Way to go!!! I also got my first fill today. 4cc is what he put in. Definitely feel like I did the day after surgery. Which is a good thing...zero fill was getting tough. I did manage to lose a little more than 4lbs in the past 4 weeks. Last week was zero....and only like 1.3 and 1.2 the 2 weeks before that. But it WAS a loss. Nurse said that several come in the first fill appt with a small gain because of the no restriction. So, that definitely made me feel better. Looking forward to getting on that losing hill again.
Oh, I forgot...I didn't even feel the needle.

Had my first fill today. No pain, no nausea, an overall great experience! On liquids the rest of the day and soft foods tomorrow and back to normal after that. I'm down 30lbs from my highest weight. (need to adjust my ticker). Have an awesome day everyone!

My surgeon suggested I walked at least 30 minutes each day starting with the first day of surgery and at 3 weeks post op I hit the gym. My first day back I did 3.5 miles on the elliptical then 3 miles on the bike. I will be 4 weeks on Friday. I also had a hiatal hernia repair so I'm not allowed to do crunches yet or any push ups. I say listen to your body and try to increase your time and distance each day. Maybe you can stick with walking or the stationary bike and take it slow at first. Make sure you are hydrated and taking your Vitamins as well.

I had this problem and it ended up being thrush. I had a thick white covering on my tongue. It comes from all the antibiotics they pump you with before surgery. Call your doctor in the morning so he can call you in a prescription.

My port is placed in my chest as well but I have no discomfort. I was just banded on the 14th. My port incision doesn't even touch my bra and my strap is right beside my port. My doctor placed it very well.

I have my calories between 800-1200 a day depending on the day. My Protein is 65-80 a day.
300 is definitely low. I found these pre mixed jewels at Walmart and this particular flavor is pretty good. (Chocolate fudge)

It has been a week and two days since my surgery. Things are going better now. First few days I had a lot of gas/heartburn but that has seem to be much better these last three days. Still a little pain at the port site, but getting better. Not as painful getting up and down out of chairs and bed and can sleep on my back and left side. I have tried the right side a couple of times but still causes pain where the port is. I am on full liquids til Monday and then I will start soft foods. I am definitely ready for that, even if it is just 1/2 to a cup Since the pre-op Optifast diet I have lost 22 pounds!!! That is exciting! I can definitely tell the difference!
I am excited for all of us as we begin our new life!! I wish us all continued success and good results on this life journey!

Good luck on the April 1 date! That is my first fill date!!
I am doing good. I noticed that I wore the same tshirt to work today that I took some before pics in on day 1 of the pre-op 10 day diet. Definite difference in one month plus a few days. This is an XL tshirt.

MestizaBander reacted to 2muchfun in Undecided lap band vs sleeve
Keep in mind that the band has been an accepted procedure longer than the sleeve, therefore the number of patients will reflect a higher number of complaints or problems overall simply due to the fact there are more patients.
Also, for some reason, sleevers seem to be very defensive over their choice and often come to threads like this to disparage the band with anecdotal stories or stories of their own. Be aware, that the patients who claim the band failed them had/have the option to revise to the sleeve, therefore you will find them here complaining how the band failed them.
You won't find the opposite where sleevers have revised to the band or back to nothing when they've lost 85% of their stomach. And the complaint that they don't want a foreign object in their bodies? How about dental fillings, heart and kidney stints, joint replacements, organ transplants, metal plates repairing fractures, mesh to repair hernias and so on. Most everyone has some kind of foreign object in their bodies.
I won't disparage the sleeve as I believe it to be a very viable procedure. The fact that some people do experience malabsorption is a concern to me though. But not enough to persuade me from having this type of surgery. I try to keep an open mind and not live and profess from my limited anecdotal life experiences. Both surgeries are effective tools for losing weight if you follow the rules.
Here is a more recent compilation of studies that gives a clearer vision of WLS.
