I'm a little over 7 months post op. Here's a before during summer of last year and one that was taken about 3 weeks ago. Down from a 42/44 to a 34 waist, and from XXL to Medium/Large in shirt sizes. 5'10 currently 208lbs and in the first picture, I was around 300lbs.

I don't think your doing anything wrong. Some people just loose slower than others, and its hard to stop comparing yourself to others. I do it all the time on this site. When I was revised I first started to loose weight slow then it sped up like at rapid rate and slowed right back down. This cycle continues for me, but everybody's story is different. That's awesome you are down 23 pounds! Rock on, you got this. Keep up the good work.

A week ago I filed for divorce and my college age girls and I moved out. It is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. I won't lie. I got my LapBand this year because I knew that until I got out of my food fog and gained control of my life, I was doomed to remain paralyzed in this increasingly unhealthy relationship. I thank God every day for the health benefits, including the mental health benefits, of WLS. For me, the personal power that came with taking charge of my body was the final tool in the toolbox I needed in order to leave. When I was morbidly obese and overeating every single day as an emotional escape, I didn't have the ability to get myself and my girls out. When I stopped self medicating with food, I took my personal power back. For me, this was never just about weight loss or looking good or even just about getting healthy. It was about finding my courage. I'd like to hear from others who have ended a marriage or long term relationship after reclaiming their personal power and mental and physical health. As scary as this is, the three of us can now breathe and we will come out of this stronger.

I was blessed with A LOT of hair. I started to loose hair like crazy but only I could tell because of the freakishly crazy amount of hair I have. (part ape I think LOL) but I started with B12 injections then started with Biotin. I take that every other day, not super religious on it because it causes me to have really bad breakouts but helps with the regrowth of my hair. I just recently had a trim, got it thinned out because the new growth made it super thick again. And only took 1/2 inch off. Which felt better, I usually have short hair through the summer but I am going through this transition and want to have long hair for a while. I also use a Shampoo that helps with breakage and Hair loss which helps a lot as well. Its all normal to loose hair with this surgery because you put your body in such a shock. Your hair will come back, it takes some time. Good luck!

I am 7 months post op. I started this journey at 397 and lost 35 before surgery which ended me at 362. I have lost 81 pounds since surgery and all together 115 pounds. Still have more to go. So far this journey has been a roller coaster but its been worth it!

I mix up my breakfasts. One day it will be scrambled eggs with cheese on top of a toastada, next day it will be Bear Peak Protein granola with skim milk. I just started to eat steal cut oats made with skim milk. At times I will just have cottage cheese with some fruit. Or eggs with some fruit. I love Al Fresco Breakfast chicken sausage patties and then I make a naked egg sandwich with the sausage on the bottom then a slice of provolone cheese, egg, Tomato, and onion. So delicious. Then there are days I eat what I had for dinner for breakfast. The other day I tried french toast for the first time. I find awesome recipes online and on Pinterest.

Big mistake? Hell no! I'm fairly confident it was a tough decision and wasn't made lightly or in haste.
As for tolerable foods? Everyone is different, you just have to experiment and find what works for you. I can eat almost everything, but for some weird reason, still have a tough time with canned tuna fish!? I can eat steak, chicken, fresh tuna steaks, roast, crawfish, ribs, etc., etc....but canned tuna just doesn't sit well w/me. No worries, I can live without it! As I'm sure you've heard many times, get your Protein in first and don't save the best bites for last, as you probably won't have room for them!
I was sleeved May 8, 2013 and my wife July 8, 2013. While my surgery and recovery were textbook, hers was a bit more challenging. She had two hernias repaired and it took about 3-4 weeks for her to quit complaining...uh-hm, I mean start to feel better!
Now, that period of time is a distant memory! I am down 119 lbs. and hit my original goal around 5 months ago.
My wife is down 80 lbs. and hit her goal about 3 months ago (She looks fantastic, but she's on a mission to lose more...I told her not to get carried away, I don't want to feel like I'm hugging a sack of hammer handles!).
Whatever you do, don't (DO NOT!) let the number on the scale dictate your feeling of success or failure! If you feel better, you are more active and you have a better quality of life, to hell with what the number is on a scale!
You're in for one heck of a journey...hang in there, I promise it wasn't a mistake!

I love that I can move around better, not so self conscious of my body, and can go way longer than I use too.

All these photos were taken WITHOUT Shapewear. After geting to goal, I was able to look pretty good with clever disguising of clothing and shapewear, but I chose photo #2 to show what I really looked like...extra skin showed even with clothes.
My sleeve surgery was Dec 2011 - photo #1 is right before
I got to goal of 158 in Feb 2013 - photo #2 is about 6 months later
I had plastics in Oct 2013 (Dr Sauceda in Mexico - lower body lift, arm lift, breast lift and augmentation and SMALL thigh lift). - Photos 2 show pre plastics.
Photos 3 and 4 were both post plastics and you can see that losing a few pounds made very little difference, it was the getting rid of the skin!

I was confronted many times by old friends telling me that I cheated. I simply told them explain how this is cheating? They couldn't answer the question without getting upset at me for giving them a hard question to answer. I had one person tell me I am going to fail because once I am a fat person I will always be a fat person. I swear some people don't use their brains at all, and let ignorance take over. I brush it off of me and walk away. I have defended myself for years, and the best defense I have will always going to be walking away with a smile on my face. One makes them madder than hell, and two I don't have to hurt their precious feelings with what I have to say. We all rock for making this huge step in life and becoming healthier. I wouldn't let idiots bring you down.
